Great view but otherwise mediocre

-Gorgeous volcano view -Safe neighborhood -Close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, taxies -Well equipped kitchen -Cold A/C -Extremely clean About the area: You MUST check out the Bogarin Sendero. Also don't miss the national park and its lovely trails (no need to go through a tour operator; just grab a red taxi in town and head right up!). Melissa tried to discourage us from going to Proyecto Asis to see the wildlife rescue but it was absolutely worth visiting and an incredible experience. Eat at Selva Rustica and Fonda 506 - you will not regret it. The fruit shop on the way into town was amazing. Check out the Wood and Art Gallery if you're into handmade local items with excellent workmanship and quality.

-We were required to pay cash with no receipt at check in. Since we both speak native-level Spanish and have been in CR many times, we agreed to take this risk and found an ATM after a long day of international travel. This could be a real issue for a first time visitor. It may be in the fine print, but we see this as a huge red flag. In 2024 electronic payment methods are a necessity. -There were no hospitable extra touches. We had the bare minimum in terms of basic supplies like towels, dish cloths, toilet paper, cleaning supplies. An extra towel would have been nice when the roof started leaking in the kitchen. Some improvements would include: little bedside tables to put your glasses/water/book, a little table on the balcony to put your drink/plate/phone, a toilet paper holder, a roll of paper towels, a place to store valuables, any additional surface space, and really any of the things that make a guest feel welcome and make the place feel inviting. This felt like a barrack or dormitory with absolutely no hospitable touches or creature comforts. Even a free map or local brochure would feel like something. -Melissa was a passive and unhelpful hostess. She offered help reserving tours in the form of a single Whatsapp message with no details or links, but insisted that she could get us the best prices. When we asked her about something that was not on her list, her response was that "It's not cheap." There was no further offer of information or help with a reservation. This was presumptuous and inhospitable. If the intent is for the owners to grow the property into a hospitality business, Melissa is not likely the right face for it. She is slow to respond to messages and does not show care and cannot be counted on as a local guide or resource. Taxi drivers and waiters were way more helpful. -The gates had no locks.

Volveré -- sin dudarlo!!!

Extraordinario lugar. Me he quedado en multiples opciones de hospedaje en la Fortuna, de todos los niveles, y este lugar me sorprendió en gran manera. Muy limpio y cerca de todo. Super bien equipado y seguro. El personal y los dueños son una maravilla. Nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y nos dieron consejos para visitar la zona. Lo recomiendo enormemente. Definitivamente, volveré a hospedarme con ellos sin dudarlo!!!

Tal vez, mi unica observación para mejora del lugar es poner ganchos para los paños del baño y servilletas para la cocina. Revisar muy bien que el recipiente de shampu y jabon del baño este bien surtido antes de que el cliente llegue.
