The rooms themselves are small and bare bones, but adequate and the bed was comfortable.
The first negative about Tru was the street and area around it were not clean. The second negative thing was that I had pre-booked my room on the fourth floor through the Hilton app, but at checkin I was told we had a basement room. When I questioned it, I was told that although I had pre-booked that, it’s still first come first serve ??? - that they had switched my room to someone who had come earlier, and furthermore they were fully booked. I do not like staying in basements in cities. I again cited that I had already booked a room and the manager came over and said, we’re fully booked, there are no empty rooms here. He was completely indifferent and even a bit agressive.
Sure enough there was a creepy crawly bug when we got into the room, in the bathroom, I took a pic and went back up to the front desk and showed him the pic. Somehow miraculously, a room on the 2nd floor was available. The third negative was that breakfast was not very appealing: egg “omelets” look like they came from a carton, chicken sausage that looked a bit pukey. The juice reservoir was leaking. The fruit was lame.

Staff and breakfast
Corner near hotel seemed to be unsafe. I made sure to only walk during daylight hours. That corner also had a lot of litter. Not pleasant.
