The garden at rear was secure
The property is surprisingly large inside and had a lovely feel
Area was very quiet but easy walk to shops and pubs
Needed a few more kitchen utensils

Good bones, nice brickwork
All cheap bedding with stains, tacky decor, no hand soap in bathroom or convenience items, bannister hanging off, no lamp shades only curtains were in the bedrooms.

From the outside it looked wonderful. A pretty cottage in a quiet area. At first glance the interior was great until we looked harder. It just was not clean.
We were told that it would be deep cleaned before we arrived. Sadly we discovered that it had not been cleaned at all!
The front bedroom mattress had no protector on it. The bed sheet had marks and hair on it. The quilt looked grubby and unclean. Luckily we were able to borrow a new quilt and cover, clean Protector and sheet from my brother who we were visiting and as always we had bought our own pillows and cases but that's a personal choice of ours.
The bedroom window didn't close properly either.
The bed in the back room was worse. We found a clump of hair under one of the pillows and the bedside furniture was thick with dust and I mean thick. This also applied to the window sill.
Behind the lounge door at the bottom of the stairs we found a large dusty cobweb that had clearly been there for a long time. I could not shut the front too wi dow either. It was clearly warped and poorly fitted. The window sill had cup ring stains on it also.
The light fittings had months of dust on them.
The kitchen fridge leaked onto the kitchen floor and I continually had to wipe it up. The cooker hood was thick with dust so much so we wrote the word DIRTY on it and left it there. The cooker grille tray had crumbs on it and what looked like melted cheese on it,
Over all we were dissapoi ted with the cleanliness so much so it made us feel uncomfortable.
To be honest if we had not travelled so far to get there and had already paid up front we would have looked for somewhere else.
We would have been happy with the cost of staying at this venue had it been clean. But it wasn't, not at all. I have messaged the owner about the concerns from our visit but they (she) has decided to ignore our concerns. Had she answered our concerns and made some recompense for our discomfort i would not have been so harsh with the review.

Plenty of attention to detail - the decor downstairs was of an excellent standard and had obviously just been completed. The kitchen provided most of the equipment needed although the fridge was a little old fashioned and had no facility to keep food frozen - no ice compartment. The TV and wi-fi were new and excellent. The bathroom was spacious, water was hot and the shower was brand-new. Upstairs had recently been painted and the rooms throughout were very clean.
There was no instruction booklet / welcome brief for the property. We could not find out how to put the heating on. The mattresses and pillows were new but had no protectors on them. The bedding was sub-standard, well-worn and did not match the standards of the rest of the property and required changing before we could use one of the beds. There was additional bedding and duvets on the floor of the wardrobe but these should have been covered in a protective wrapping before use. No bedside lamps or lightshades upstairs. The property had no downstairs curtains or blinds which meant there was no privacy from people looking in when passing. The lounge window was open on arrival and could not be closed properly - as a result we left our valuables in our car. The host arrived promptly when we called her and tried to rectify the fault with the window and changed the bedding for us.
