Stayed here after running the Suffolk Coast Path 50k. What an amazing place, lovely staff, clean rooms, and we sat in an area called the snug - had excellent food service and my wife said the steak was the best she’d ever had.

Have stayed at this property numerous times when visiting friends in Leiston. Our room was very clean. Plenty of hot beverages and biscuits. Toiletries supplied.
Staff really helpful.
Breakfast available if required.
You can't always park on site but plenty of parking a short walk away.
Would definitely recommend

The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is spectacular.
I realise the building is old but the bedroom and stairs are in need of decorating.
We had a great couple of days, live music on the Sunday, the band was really good. Cup final was on, never heard any if it from the room.
We would stay again when in the area.

Room was clean and fully equipped for a quick morning coffee which is helpful. Staff was nice and check in and out were very smooth. The only problem is that room isolation is not very good so we could hear noises from the outside and inside the property late at night. Would recommend irrespective of it.

Pleasant friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with a good choice on the menu. The room and en-suite bathroom were clean and the towels were of good quality. Comfortable bed.
Leiston is a town with a lot of through traffic so traffic noise noticeable.

Really welcoming, cheerful and helpful staff. A great base to explore the Suffolk coast.

Room was superb, and fully matched what we were looking for

Enjoyed my stay at the Whitehorse hotel. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It would’ve been nice to have a mirror in my room, otherwise the room was satisfactory.
I do think it would be good if the price of a breakfast was included in the overall price rather than having to pay separately.I also think that overall it is a little bit on the expensive side, but I understand they have to make a living!

There is quite simply nothing not to like about this property. We had a wonderful weekend here. The room was spacious, and spotlessly clean, and the bed super comfy. The breakfast was a real stand-out. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. It was our first visit to the area - don't know why we left it so long!

We stayed in room 3 while our friends were in room 5, and the difference was remarkable. Our room was modern and didn't match the photo we saw online, as we were 'upgraded' due to a band playing in the pub below. The bathroom was incredibly small, only accommodating one person at a time. Definitely not worth £100 a night.

It was very expensive for what it was and breakfast wasn't included but it was friendly

Lovely family run hotel. Made to feel very welcome.

This is a lovely big building down stairs bar and restaurant areas are nicely decorated but the rooms need some TLC

Our twin room was small but clean and well arranged, although a chair would have been useful. We were served a generously portioned Sunday roast, well cooked, a great meal.

Service and breakfast was great. Room was poor. In places the walls had been repaired but not painted. There was a hole behind the door which had not been repaired. The bathroom smelt and the bath was marked. Having paid £120 for the room, we felt we had been massively over charged. We understand the rooms are being refurbished which is needed and would perhaps reflect the rate we paid.

A fairly average pub with rooms as opposed to a hotel. It’s on a busy road so if you are a light sleeper then it probably isn’t for you.
The food (both dinner and breakfast) were good although the level of cleanliness was poor.
The room we had was pretty tired and in need of some updating. Temperature in the room was good and the shower was just about passable.
So for the money it was just about OK.

Hotel really needs a refurb. Definitely not worth the money charged a night

We had a great stay at the White Horse Hotel. We stayed in two twin rooms with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was great and the rooms were good. A couple more additions such as mirrors in the rooms would make the rooms even better. All of the staff were absolutely lovely and we enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant.

Nice pub, rooms are a bit dated

Clean sheets but bed cover looked very grubby..nice bathroom but broken floor tiles..kettle on floor lead not long enough to put on table and TV the size for a caravan not a hotel room!!!

Small car park. Unable to park until late evening as people at the bar was watching football on the big screen.
Terrible road noise as windows not insulated and a set of traffic lights just outside. Constant traffic.
Bed uncomfortable.
Lead not long enough for the kettle. So had to put it on the floor near the socket. Very dangerous
Just warm water. No Hot.
This is a pub not a hotel.

Hotel rooms could do with a referb but they are clean. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Great bar and food.

Characterful pub/hotel with friendly service, good evening meal/breakfast and nice, comfortable room with spacious en-suite bathroom. A little bit of noise from the street when the bar shut around midnight but didn't last too long. Good value, couldn't have asked for or expected more from an overnight stay. Ideal for our purposes (visiting friends in the area).

Parking was tight on arrival, but staff kindly shifted their cars to make room, rooms were basic, broken items, cracked floor tiles, loose covering - needed attention, although it was clean but very reminiscent of a student room - road noise was obvious, people in the street (presumably from the bar?) and level crossing outside of the room beeps, which sounded like an alarm in another part of the building..
Breakfast and breakfast area was lovely, really stood out from the rest - it felt like its own little cafe - all in all, ok for a night at a comparatively budget price

The room was not fit for purpose. When we complained we were advised by the manager that the website states under refurbishment. We did not receive this information and it is still not stated on the website. The shower had no pressure and was straight off the taps and in very poor condition. The bath had patches of enamel missing. The plug sockets were not plastered into the wall and had cracks and plaster missing around the surround. No meals are served on Tuesdays which we had not been informed about. It was suggested we use a communal shower instead of the en suite facilities of the room. There was damage to the interior wall which needed repairing. Contractors of the hotel were let into our room without us being present and without our prior consent. At this time, our room was left, with the door wide open, for 20 mins (we returned to our room to see this for ourselves) When we complained about the state of our room, we were told that the accommodation "was good enough for contractors" Surely it does not matter who is staying at the hotel, basic standards should apply. We have uploaded the photos we have taken to support the above. Coffee is not included with the cost of breakfast which we think is quite unbelievable. We would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

The staff were lovely and the service was amazing. The food was delicious too. When we arrived, there were no spaces in the car park and we had to park quite far away down a side road (which wasn't great considering my boyfriend's broken ankle). It would have been better to be informed that for such a large property there is very little parking. We also had to have cold showers in the morning as there was no hot water!
