About this drivable vehicle rental
Meet the Rockhound! A 2017 4X4 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off-Road model with a 2021 Four Wheel Campers Fleet pop-up camper. This setup is a dream machine for anyone looking for an off-grid 'overlanding,' four wheel drive experience.
The FWC Fleet model is a base bare-bones setup with no sink or built in amenities... but don't let that fool you. She comes with a solar setup, an new optional portable cassette toilet, ceiling fan, stove options and an optional heater and electric blankets for colder nights. This rig has two cozy beds: An upper slide-out queen (can easily fit 3 or 4 people) and a lower twin that is great for one person (or some furry friends.) We roll with two adults, a child and two dogs comfortably. The inside is a tad tight (this is not an RV) but very fun and efficient. It's made for real adventures when you do not want to tow or need to go into places an RV cannot. Perfect for snow trips and light dirt trails when good ground clearance is needed.
Dogs are welcome! We traditionally do not travel with them in the camper due to all the gear we carry. The inside is built-out with custom cabinets with lots of kitchenware and tools, as well as an 1100-watt inverter and solar panels to charge all your gadgets (no E-bike charging allowed.) The truck comes with GoTreads, foldable traction tools / recovery boards offering quick tire traction for any vehicle. We use them for leveling and getting out of sticky situations if needed. A couple of camp chairs are included upon request and probably everything basic you need. Pack your sleeping bags and hit the road.
The truck has upgraded suspension, heavy duty leaf springs and all-terrain tires great for road trips. The Rockhound also has a 270 degree Batwing awning/canopy great for hot days or hiding from the rain or snow. It even has optional walls if requested.
