About this house rental
Enjoy your stay at this pet-loving, Bohemian Bungalow located minutes from shopping at West Monroe’s Antique Alley and Monroe’s best breweries, bars, and restaurants. We aim to provide a level of hospitality that rivals leading boutique hotels, but these pictures only show our starting point (expect updates after Thanksgiving 2023). If you would like to book for the 2023 holiday season, please feel free to express special requests and we would be happy to prioritize them among our list of planned additions.
The house is located on a one-way street a few blocks behind a high school. This combo makes for a very quiet street with more people leisurely walking than driving. All surrounding homes are family homes with little to no action to speak of. Please do not consider this property for parties because the head of the neighborhood watch lives across the street and nobody wants to have that conversation.
I’ve attempted to make each room welcoming and interesting, while leaving plenty of space for your belongings. The bedrooms have a total of three closets for your exclusive use. The TV stand in the living room has drawers for additional storage.
The queen mattress is plush and has a heavier quilt.
The king mattress is actually two twin XL’s, which accommodates those couples who differ in their preferences for soft and firm mattresses. If you feel that you will need a gap filler, please let me know; meanwhile, the king sheets go over the gap to prevent issues.
The king bed can also be split to create two separate twin XL beds. If you communicate your preference in advance, I can have the beds arranged accordingly.
The workspace is flimsy, I know, but it allows the benefit of placing it in whatever site you work best: over the couch, facing the tv, facing away from the tv, or in a separate bedroom.
In addition to the appliances shown in the pictures, there is also a microwave and toaster in the cabinets.
There is an additional corner of the living room that we have reserved for a kennel or children’s play area. If you have children, we have various baby gear stored under the queen bed. You are more than welcome to use these items, but please be aware that our housekeeping service does not regularly clean them and they may require cleaning before use.
We also have fitness equipment for your use: five and ten pound dumbbells, ankle weights, and a Pilates mat are stored under the couch. As with the baby equipment, we recommend that you clean before use and ask that you also clean after use.
We absolutely love dogs and if you’re not bringing one, we’d even encourage you to foster one while you’re here. Ask about our Underdogs if interested! We try to make everything as dog-friendly as possible, but it’s a work in progress. The yard is fully fenced, but not 100% securely fenced. If you have ANY concerns about your dog escaping, please use the long lines clipped to the laundry line post in the backyard. At least one neighbor on the chicken-wire fence side has small Yorkies and the long line prevents any unsupervised contact if they end up outside at the same time. The long lines still allow access to the back fence line, so please be aware if any dogs seem to be regularly using that yard.
I’m available any time for any questions. I’m usually up late, but will have my phone silenced until I wake up around 8:30. However, I am managing the property from North Carolina, so I appreciate your patience while I coordinate anything on the ground in Louisiana.
All of our cleaning items and equipment are available for use during your stay. We try to maintain a natural household and lean heavily on baking soda, vinegar, citrus, etc. if you have any questions, we are here to help.
