About this house rental
Think of Ruby as your eccentric auntie; a flapper girl in the roaring twenties, but now, here in the 1960s, she values the quiet cozy coastal comforts of an artist’s hideaway. Boutique art hotel meets fully adorned coastal home. Enjoy a cocktail in the speakeasy floor-to-ceiling charcoal art gallery. Rinse off after your surf sesh at The Washout (14-minute drive) in the outdoor shower. Enjoy candle-lit al fresco dining in the spacious screened-in porch (post-dinner Old Fashioned’s at the firepit to follow.) This space is playful, whimsical, and for those with a sense of humor who seek to unwind. 10-minute walk to the iconic Terrace Theater, Bar George, and The Pour House. 10-minute drive to downtown. The very best location in Charleston, designed with your comfort and joy in mind.
Neighborhood description
I bought this house because of its insane location. A ten-minute WALK (walk!!) to the cutest and most beloved strip of restaurants and bars at the Terrace Movie Theater shopping center, and The Pour House music venue. Bar George is your new neighborhood go-to date cocktail hot spot. Crust is wonderful oven roasted pizzas and seasonal salads. Millers All Day is the cutest, most trendy breakfast all-day spot you're going to cherish on lazy Saturdays. Get your nails done at Reflections Nail studio (ask for Kent!) Groove to Motown Throwdown play after chatting up your favorite local farmer at the Pour House Farmer's Market on Sundays (visit the pickled Green Bean lady, she's the best!!) There's live music every night at The Pour House-check their calendar!
The entire neighborhood is a single looped road, very family friendly (there is a band of feral hyena girls ages 5-9 you'll see in a perfume cloud scootering the loop; one can only dream of one day arriving at their level of coolness to ride alongside these pocket-sized legends.) The neighborhood backs up to the iconic Muni Golf course, so it is perfectly quiet and calm beyond the hum of Maybank highway road sounds. Cross Maybank Highway and take a stroll under the ancient Angel Oaks of Riverland Terrace (walking to the Riverland Terrace boat ramp is a lovely route.)
It's about a 10 minute drive to get to MUSC and the heart of downtown, and about 14 minutes to get to Folly Beach (easy parking, just make sure to get all 4 tires OFF the road of they'll ticket--so annoying.) There's a Gold's Gym about 9 Minutes down Riverland Terrace, and about a 6-minute drive to get to James Island County Park - miles of loops for running or walking with a friend ($2/per person, or get a season pass if you're a runner!)
KEYLESS ENTRY: You'll be given you own unique code for checking in with the keyless entry system. To enter, type in the 4-6 digit code + the "UTEC" icon at the bottom of lock.
LEAVING--To lock when leaving: Press the "UTEC" icon at the bottom of the lock.
AUTO-LOCK FEATURE: Front door auto-locks after 1 minute, other doors autolock after 3 minutes. Yes, it sounds like the Terminator at first with its auto lock feature, but you'll get used to it. :)
