Wonderful service from every member of the staff

A great property, location and room - this time unfortunately let down by service

Warm welcome. Butler assistance with luggage. Large bedroom. Good room for breakfast - fast and prompt service. Good choice to start the day. Pot luck meant you could dine in the Tap Room without reservation in the evening.
Not so keen on the choice of food for dining. Monkfish overcooked so disappointingly chewy.
Hot water scaldingly hot in bedroom.

Stylish, comfortable hotel in centre of Southwold.
Lovely room, beautifully appointed. Lovely service. Lovely 😊

We are local but always have the children with us when we spend the day in Southwold. It was great to appreciate what Southwold and all The Swan has to offer.
Our room was fabulous, so comfortable - a prefect retreat for a night away. We will definitely stay again, soon.
Thank you

Great location and lovely decor throughout. Room was big and well set out. Bed very comfy. Little things throughout the stay let us down given how much it was to stay there. Generally slow service both in the restaurant and hotel
staff. Check in wasn’t great. Told we should have booked direct so we wouldn’t have had to pay for breakfast. Not what you want to hear on arrival. No offer of help with bags. Not bottle opener in room then took about 30mins to get one and felt like we were putting them out asking for one. Shower very poor (no pressure). Slow service in the restaurant. Toast was burnt at breakfast. All smalls things that could be fixed easily just annoying when you are there.

Our only complaint is that our suite was expensive for what it was, it was quite claustrophobic

Recently renovated to a very high standard. A great place to stay for a special weekend, especially in the low season.

There is no doubt that the hotel has been renovated to a luxurious, high standard and that the staff are well-trained and pleasant. And one of the charms of The Swan is that it is an old building with quirky staircases and little nooks and crannies. However, we were disturbed during the night by doors banging and people using stairs outside our room in order to access theirs. It doesn't matter how luxurious a room and a bed are if you are constantly disturbed and for this reason we don't feel that our stay was value for money. The breakfast buffet was also rather disappointing, although the kipper was excellent.

Very nicely refurbished hotel to a good standard. We had 3 nights B&B and it was most enjoyable with tasty breakfast menu. Central and 200 yds from sea.

Lovely hotel, newly renovated. Right in the center of town. Great food and drinks at a reasonable price.

We stayed in one if the garden rooms at The Swan. Room was spacious, clean and had lots of homely touches including a bed, towel, bowl and treats for the dog. They really had thought of everything to make our stay an experience rather than just somewhere to sleep. For a small charge we were served a delicious "breakfast in bed" which was a treat. The staff were lovely and super friendly and helpful. I also really liked that the toiletries were in full sized refillable containers so as not to add to the problems associated with single use plastics. If I had one criticism it would be that the room was very warm which probably wasn't helped by the unseasonably warm weather for October, and there was a fan in the wardrobe that we could have used if we'd wished. All in all a really lovely anniversary weekend.

Our one night stay was wonderful. Friendly & welcoming staff. Our room was lovely but small and there was no air conditioning so was quite hot in August but a fan was provided.

Modern, quirky boutique hotel in centre of Southwold. Close walk to immaculate beach front. Southwold is a beautiful location and the hotel had a lively atmosphere. Room was good size and very modern. Luxurious toiletries and complimentary bottle of gin made at Adnams brewery located directly behind hotel. Was worried the £200 a night room charge would not be value for money, however was nicely surprised. Breakfast was fantastic.

This was a present to my daughter as she has been unwell, she told ne she had the best time ever. Would like to go back again one day.

From first arrival the staff were excellent and attentive. Small details like fresh milk and a complimentary bottle of gin in the room all went to ensure that our stay was perfect in every way. the bedding is good with crisp linen, feather pillows, a fan provided etc. By having a barrier on the car park the hotel guarantees a space which is essential as parking is at a premium in Southwold. the hotel is so well located that we did not move our car until we left to drive home.

Lovely hotel in a great position, would definitely return... the room and rest of hotel was spotless, my only negative was the temperature of the room which I know can’t be helped sometimes but it was far too hot for us to get a decent nights sleep, other than that a lovely little one night getaway!

Lovely refurbished hotel. Great location though inevitably busy for eating at this time of year.

Total luxury - but then it should be at that price. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous interiors throughout, fabulous breakfast. Just perfect for a sunny weekend in southwold and a special occasion.

Hotel is great, centrally placed with a modern facelift. Not cheap by any means but very high standard of service.
