About this cottage rental

An A+ Location, this cottage has quality amenities, and everything you'll need to enjoy a beach getaway! No need to drive once you park inside the gates. You'll walk everywhere. Conveniently located beside the village park with kiddie playground, and basketball court. The cottage is across from the Parkside Cafe/Snack Bar/Bakery/Marketplace with the best eats in town, in my opinion. Take a beach wagon, piled high with beach toys from the 'Red Shed', you'll be seated on the sand within 2 minutes!

There are 40+ wetsuits, boogie & surfboards, beach chairs, umbrellas, totes, towels, blankets, footballs, smash ball & soccer balls, and sand toys for the little ones.. Shoot hoops, or play pingpong in the neighboring park.

Lounge, Dine, and Relax on the back deck with 2 adjustable lounges, teak table, chairs, bench and a Mt. Tamalpais view. Or, soak in the 5' spa and watch the stars come out after a sunset beach walk. There's a 3 burner propane Weber grill, and a well stocked corner grocer, if you want to bbq. Or, order a pizza (clam with tomatillo sauce is my favorite) and calamari from Parkside.

The Dipsea and Matt Davis Trailheads are steps away, opening up the entire Mt. Tamalpais Park, Muir Woods National Park, and Golden Gate National Recreation Area to hikers. Or, walk the entire 2 mile length of Stinson & Upton Beach to the inlet of Bolinas Lagoon.

Bring the binoculars, and view migratory and resident shore birds. Flocks of pelicans, terns, cormorants, herons, egrets and many more visit or reside on the lagoon, and seashore. You may see migrating whales pass by in late fall heading to mexico, returning north in the spring with their young.. Harbor seals routinely sleep side-by-side along the exposed Bolinas Lagoon sand spit during low tide. There are many places to park along the lagoon to enjoy the peaceful comings and goings of wildlife. Bring beach chairs and a picnic. You may even see the resident family of river otters hunting along the shore for fish, shellfish & crabs. There's always plenty to do!

The cottage is 1 level, sunny & bright. The Kitchen/Great Room has a large butcher block island with propane gas stove, overlooking the living area. You can view the large, wall mounted, smart TV with family and friends during meal preparation. The well appointed kitchen has a Bosch Dishwasher, Fisher Paykel Refrigerator, microwave oven, gas stove, quality cookware and dinnerware.

Primary bedroom has desk & chair, full length bench, and a large closet with a folding infant crib. Both the primary and secondary bedrooms, have black out curtains, featherbeds and down comforters on the queen beds. . Very comfortable and cozy sleeping....

There is on-demand hot water, 2 modern electric wall heaters and good lighting. An outside shower, on the back fence, has H/C water for rinsing off after a dip in the ocean, or before using the spa. The full bath has a shower over the tub. There is a full size Washer & Dryer, that are stacked in a closet.

Parking is for 1 Car inside gated driveway. Abundant on-street parking available for larg SUV vehicles.

Owner lives in the back cottage, parks beside your vehicle, and has a private fenced yard & back gate.

I rent properties all the time. This is one of those properties that I hate to give a high rating because I want it available the next time I come :)!! Host is awesome, location is prime, and beds and bedding are comfortable...can't beat it!!

The property and location and all around wonder have us wanting to move to Stinson Beach for life! We can't wait to go back and will absolutely stay at Linda's property any chance we get. Top to bottom it was easy and filled with every single thing we needed or wanted. The home is delightful and steps to the beach in one way, and fun stores and a village in the other direction -- and a fantastic restaurant and bakery across the street with the most amazing fish and pastries and tacos. Everything about this place and trip and location is trip of a lifetime worthy!!

I give fair, honest reviews. If you want peace & tranquility, this is not the place unless you have kids. There is a play ground next to the fence & a busy restaurant/café across the street that is loud until about 11. If you are younger and don't mind the kids then this is the place for you. we did consider the fact that it was during summer vacation so there were extra kids around. I needed quiet. Owner is very present on the property, like weeding outside our bedroom window at 7am. She is VERY kind & helpful. She offers great suggestions. The place is well stocked except there is only a French press for coffee which we enjoyed but not practical for more than 2 people. There isn't really a place to sit and eat which didn't bother us but something to think about when you are planning meals. It could have been a bit cleaner. Floor was not mopped well, spiders & webs in ALL the rooms & windows, sills were dirty. If we didn't have our mother with us I wouldn't care as much but she notices EVERYTHING. There is a compost bin in the kitchen which was very appreciated. The shed has a TON of beach items to use. The hot tub jets were disabled because of "kids messing with it" so it was more of a hot bath. Muir Woods was about 15 minutes away -a must see. Would I go again? Maybe if we brought our grandchildren so they could play at the playground next door. Overall, you cannot beat the location. It is a few minutes across the street, through a parking lot to the beach.

Perfectly appointed with all the amenities, this place exceeded expectations. Situated in the middle of town, and yet hidden away, it was easy to access beach, restaurants, the general store, and any other interests. If I find myself headed to the area again, I will not hesitate to seek out another stay at the Stinson Beach Cottage.

We had a wonderful time at Linda’s home. She is a gracious host and the home is lovely. Right in town, so very convenient for grabbing food and walking to the beach. The playground is next door which would be wonderful with children. Can’t wait to come back!

This is our go-to rental for Stinson Beach. It’s next door to the park and playground, across the street from Parkside snack bar, espresso shop, and restaurant, and just a short walk over the dunes to the beach. The host is super sweet and very responsive. We love this spot and will return again. Highly recommend

This was our second time visiting Linda's cottage. Everything was perfect, we needed a place for respite after some recent losses; what better place than the beach. Linda was very kind, communicative and helpful. At the same time she gave us privacy and was respectful of our space (as we were to hers). I didn't want to leave. Excellent stay!

This is a fantastic little comfortable house close to the beach. The best part is the private wind-protected backyard for relaxing, eating, and hot tubbing. The beds are super comfortable. The only downside was that many of the pots/pans required washing before use.

The owner, Linda, is a wealth of information when it comes to what to do in the area. Such a cool lady & best host ever! The cottage has it all. You don’t even need to leave the area to enjoy a full weekend! There’s a shed full of beach goodies including wetsuits of all sizes, boogie boards, surfboard, sand toys, beach bikes & even a wagon to get it everything to the beach & back! The cottage is comfy & inviting! It has all the comforts of home & is well supplied. Linda pays great attention to detail & didn’t forget a thing! The cottage is located between the gorgeous mountains & fabulous beach which explains the zen-like atmosphere! Parkside restaurant, bar, bakery & snack bar are across the street & offer a delicious array of food. We thoroughly enjoyed the fish tacos & clam pizza! Stinson Beach is clean & great for beach combing. I can’t wait to boogie board when we return in June!

We loved the cottage and the location can’t be beat. Steps from the ocean and downtown Stinson amenities. A short walk to the Dipsea Trail for breathtaking views. The house was very well equipped and has everything you could think of including all the accessories for the beach. All you need to do is show up…

The owner (Linda’s) home is well-organized and she responded quickly to any questions we had, however we had few because the house rules and layout are clear and/or self-explanatory Small notes posted by the owner serve as reminders or helpful hints. It is a clean, simple & well laid out & cared for property in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. We very much appreciated Linda’s recommendations for day trips and her helpful advice regarding things to do locally.

The property was amazing. You cannot ask for a better location. Everything was well labeled and easy to find. Instructions on how to use everything made it super easy. The property is beautiful and Linda is super nice. We traveled with a 5 year old and it was great. Can't wait to come back again. It is a real gem!

I had such a lovely stay at Horseneck Cottage, and look forward to coming back! Linda was a lovely host. The cottage had everything one might need for a comfortable stay, including comfy slippers and lots of other thoughtful touches. With so many birds to watch out of the window, and the beach was just a minute away, I had plenty of options for quick work breaks. I didn't cook much (Parkside Cafe across the street fed me comfortably), but I was impressed at what amenities the little kitchen had packed away. I can totally imagine bringing my family here for a weekend of adventures and being cozy and comfortable. The only advice I'd give is to bring warm layers because the cottage is heated by two electric wall heaters, and (being a beach cottage) isn't super tight. Thank you, Linda, for a lovely stay! I'm plotting my return!

Close to the restaurant, bookstore, and beach, can hear the waves and next door is a playground and b-ball hoop. Bird feeders in the yard draw a large variety of birds to watch. The beach is long enough for a great walk. Property owner was perfectly responsive and available.

The property is beautiful and centrally located. Baby friendly, we were traveling with our 3month old and found the amenities very child friendly. Got Tub was perfect after a long hike, the trailhead was only a block away. Linda was super communicative and friendly, I would happily stay here again and again!

Beautiful beach cottage!!! Perfect Location!!! The beach is right across the street, Parkside Cafe is at your back door, the park, Breakers restaurant and shopping boutiques are literally around the corner. Everything you need is steps away or a very short walk, even the grocery store. We loved the fact that the cottage has a washer and dryer. I enjoyed the hot tub on a peaceful cool morning, before the world awoke. Linda is an amazing host!!! Beds, bedding and pillows were so comfortable. We had a great time and enjoyed your beautiful cottage. Thank you Linda!!!

Perfect beach getaway across street from Parkside Grille and beach access. Everything Stinson Beach has to offer is in walking distance. House is as advertised and Linda (owner) was amazing host and easy to communicate with. Was a weekend away with my 19-year old son and we were completely at home. Cottage is well stocked and host even has everything imaginable for beach which is steps away. Also great outdoor shower and hot tub. We will be back soon. Thank you Linda!
