About this house rental
Hidden within the quiet leafy roads of Christchurch in Dorset, and close to multiple coastal attractions including central Christchurch and its Quay, Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth Town, Mudeford Sandspit, and Avon & Highcliffe Beaches — the stunning four-bedroom Oakwood, with its relaxing nooks, makes for a practical and spacious getaway on the south coast sleeping up to 8 people.
The space
Oakwood is located in a quiet residential area to the north of Christchurch Town, and comes with direct access to a local recreational park from its garden — ideal for dog walkers, children’s play, or for exercise.
This single storey multi-generational bungalow has been finished and furnished to high standards, and has a homely and cosy feel with gorgeous wood flooring throughout. There’s fantastic outdoor spaces at this property too, with a private and secluded feel.
From the main entrance door, through a front porch area and into the house, there are three bedrooms along the hallway, the first two with soft slate carpet underfoot.
The first room off the hall is a large spacious kingsize bedroom, with ample storage including a freestanding wardrobe, bedside chests, a vanity unit & chair; opposite a large window with venetian blinds.
On the other side of the hall is another smart double bedroom, with large built-in sliding mirrored wardrobe, bedside chests for storage, and a window and blinds.
Further along is the third of four bedrooms, which is ideal for infants, kids or teens, and comes with two single beds, a long side-table cabinet for storage, and wooden flooring.
Next, a modern spacious family bathroom is off the hallway, and is beautifully finished with a large walk-in shower cubicle, wall-hung toilet, twin wash basins with substantial storage cabinet, large mirror, heated towel rails, and a beautiful freestanding deep bath.
The main living dining area towards the rear is the heart of the home, with a gorgeous light filled open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen space, and central island.
The lounge section has three sofas surrounding a smart 50" TV, with DVD player, and coffee table cabinet. An exceptionally cosy space to unwind in the evenings.
A stunning oak dining table seats a large number of diners, and extends out further — with plenty of cushioned high back chairs for family meals.
The minimalist kitchen has a real wow factor, including a substantial island unit with gas hob and sink, dark granite worktops, curved edges, and a lustrous off-white cabinet finish — overlooking all the social areas of the room. It comes fully integrated with a dishwasher, double ovens, a wine fridge, and a large American-style fridge freezer unit. There's lots of storage cabinets filled with various cookware, tableware, glassware, crockery, utensils and cutlery, plus small appliances — everything you would ever need for a stay.
Near to the lounge area is the fourth bedroom, a simple double room, with storage cupboard, a desk and chair workspace, and a useful shower wet-room ensuite.
Next to the dining area are some well-thought out bi-fold doors, leading onto a smart decked area. The whole garden is beautifully landscaped, and has several oak trees on the back boundary, and a handy gate opening onto a large recreational field behind.
The contemporary garden features some play apparatus for little ones, and a wendy house. Most of this space has decking, and includes a three-piece rattan sofa set, an outdoor dining table with chairs, and ambient fence down lighting — ideal for warm summer days and evenings.
Guest access
The whole main house and gardens, plus a gate from the garden onto a communal recreation field.
Other things to note
Included in your booking are linens and towels, free Wi-Fi, washing machine, separate dryer unit, clothes drying rack, outdoor rotary clothes airer, iron & board, highchair, hairdryer, travel cot, and hoover. Please check our amenities list for more info.

Lovely comfy bungalow. Perfect for elderly parent with walking issues. Lots of crockery and cutlery which was great. Beds were really comfortable. Luxury bathrooms and towels. Only thing we missed was a kettle. The "hot tap" wasn't so good. Would come again.
