It’s like they put 2-star rooms/buildings on a 4-star property. Food was meh but pricey even for a resort, as was parking. Tram was comically slow. Towel dispensers were often empty. Everything else was great! 3.5 stars.

It was great the only downside of the hotel was its location. It is 40 min drive from Kona

We were given a room in the Palace tower. There was heavy construction going on. Loud noise all day and welding / burning smell. If we knew about the construction we would have booked elsewhere.
Resort is beautiful and staff is friendly.

Nice hotel with all the fun activities to offer. Room cleaning staff came everyday to make the bed/empty the trash/replace towels eventho it says they will only come on certain day. Totally happy with the hotel. Will return for next time visiting Kona.

Ver large resort with a few restaurants and activities. Definitely do not do late checkouts. Pools great, often run out of towels, could be better restaurants and longer hours.

The resort is both expansive and breathtaking. My wife and I were nearly overwhelming with all the onsite options. It’s very easy to walk around and take everything in, Hilton has done a terrific job providing a covered walkway with interesting artwork and cultural exhibits. Overall an amazing venue.
If I had any criticism it’d be logistics. However, the tram/monorail is exceedingly slow. Also, the parking lot is at one end of the property, and our room happed to be on the other end (15 minutes travel time).

The first day the HVAC was not getting cold and they could not get it any colder. We just lived with it. In addition, every day ( multiple times per day) we had key and door problems. I asked the staff to get it fixed on 2nd day out of 5 days. Unfortunately every day we had to do the long walk to the front desk to request new keys. I even made sure the key was in another pocket away from my phone and any other items. Last but not least the cost to eat on property is ridiculous. $55 per person for breakfast. Which was not good. Overall I am disappointed in Hilton….it could have been a much better experience.

Beautiful place. Wish we had more time spend there.

Property is worn out. Construction dumpsters and vehicles is what you see from your room instead of nice ocean view. Rooms needs upgrades. Lost two days in bad room with construction. Hilton did not compensate for it. No consideration for inconvenience. Breakfast and parking price unreasonably very very high. No boats running. Still pay $50 night resort fee. Keep paying all fees but no service. Overall nice place but had very bad time and management had done nothing.
House keeping staff very good.

Had a lovely time! Restaurants on the property offer a good range of food that’s perfect for hanging out in the sun or for date night. The spa was excellent, and the pools were wonderful. The lagoon was likely my favorite part, as you constantly see ocean life like sea turtles and sting rays. Not to mention you can rent a car and see the island, go on a catamaran cruise, snorkel, and more!

Me and my soon to be fiancé, stayed there for 4 nights. The staff very polite. The room and property clean. Access to bathroom and water fountains all over the resort. We saw the luau and it was amazing. Pools were nice not crowded. Hot tubs were incredible. We had a lot of food there. The best pizza was at Nui. The train that takes you was clean, we all can agree that it could have been a little faster but it’s okay. A big shout out to Walter that helped us with tickets to the luau.

The hotel grounds were like a museum. Absolutely beautiful, from the works of art littered around the site, to the tram that takes you throughout the property, to the dolphins and turtles swimming in the lagoon. The only downside is that the food was very expensive which is par for the course in Hawaii. There were many shops on campus as well. Highly recommend for couples, family with children, or solo travelers.

There wasn’t any transportation to basics shopping that wasn’t available at the resort so it would be better if they had a shuttle to the malls nearby.

A spectacular property w/ wonderful architecture, decor, & foliage, w/ scenic portraits every 50 feet.
The vast property needs the fun boats & tram system to get around. I wish the trams were quicker between stops, this would save lots of vacation time.
There was a good deal of renovation going on this trip, but surprisingly not disruptive to our stay.
Valets, porters, reception, housekeeping, all service people were wonderful & helpful for any request.
My only complete disappointment was our dinner at the Kamuela Provision co., the premier restaurant on the property. You cannot beat the location, design, or panoramic views at this restaurant. The reception for our reservation was efficient, but cold as ice. Our waiter was experienced & well versed in the menu.
We understand the desire to be unique, but you have to remember to provide what your patrons want, good flavors. The decision to not provide a single green salad option was very disappointing to my wife. Sorry, diced cabbage does not count. I asked for a modification to the sashimi option (ahi only) which was rejected by the chef. OK, I tried something else, wantons - not tasty.
Then to entres. The menu items all sounded good: peppered ahi & a custom Mahi mix for my wife. The problem was all of the garnishes/sauces were bland & very disapponting for anything that costs $70-$80/plate.
We get back to this property every 3-4 years. Hopefully, our return visit will recover to the wonderful meals from previous trips.

The hotel grounds, pools, and lagoon are nothing short of spectacular. We knew that already from just visiting before and that's why we booked it. Room with ocean and lagoon view in the Palace tower was amazing.
So why not 5 stars? Food prices! The food is good, but $230 for 2 adults 2 children breakfast? We mostly went to Lagoon Grill for lunch due to beautiful location next to dolphins and more "normal" prices (well, still expect to pay close to 200 for a family of 4).
Also disappointing was that the boats were closed, and many cars in the train had A/C broken. Water slides not always working. For amount they charge for everything (including resort fee on top of the room price etc.) I'd expect they make efforts to fix those things sooner.
Staff was very nice and friendly! And marine life in the lagoon is amazing. I did not think it would worth snorkeling, no corals etc., but we saw so many colorful and quite big fish, and turtles!

There are three different pools (including lagoon) that provide the guest with options to enjoy.
Some AC in tram was out of order during the stay and wish they could fix sooner.

It’s an overall good place to stay. If you plan to park expect $50 per day fee and also a $50 dlla resort fee so whatever deal you get through Expedia, just add $100 per day.
