I don’t have enough good things to say about the Hôtel de France. It has all the charm of a family-run business fused with spotless cleanliness with modern amenities and comfort in a perfect location on the main drag in this quaint little French beach town. The commercial district with infinite dining and shopping options is right in its back yard, and it’s within easy walking distance of a Leclerc supermarket. Had enough sun and surf? Enjoy a drink on the terrace of their lovely bar and dining room!
Ghislaine and her entire staff were all so friendly, personable, and accommodating. As my dad was always fond of saying, the charm of a visit is more about the people than the place, and their on-point smiles and top-notch service drove that point home. I also learned that this hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the town of Mimizan-Plage, so add historical charm to its list of reasons to stay there.
Don’t hesitate to book a room in this lovely treasure of a hotel. It will definitely be part of the good memories you take home from your stay in Mimizan.

Stay was fine and satisfied the desire to visit some Atlantic coast beaches. Be aware if you have sensitivities to airborne odors the local paper mill emits some fairly acrid fumes that can be very irritating. Off season so a lot of restaurants closed.
