Beautiful room upstairs in the alcove with sitting area. Temperature perfect Loved the spa facilities, like the pool the sauna the steam baths Dinner was absolutely delicious and breakfasts really good with huge variety We made use of the bar as well, which has a nice variety of drinks

We have stayed with hotel Birke last year, which was good. This time however, the experience was very bad. We received a room, where there must have been some admin or the like above. There was a constant movement and the noise was very loud, which made it hard for us to fall asleep. Once asleep, we had the weirdest experience, as a man (likely an employee) barged in our room in the middle of the night. This woke my wife and made her very scared. He ran away and we barricaded the room for the rest of the night. When we talked with the staff about this the following morning, they of course apologised and said it could have been a staff person who entered wrongly. Also the staff in the pool, a gentleman was not really that friendly when he corrected our child, which was being very considerate in the pool. In general the hotel gives a vibe that it has some good/upper class, but in reality the experience was very bad. This is a shame as we had gotten a good expression last year, but this time it was just bad.

It is a good hotel in a quiet area. The service was very good, but the cleaning can be improved. It was hair on the toilet floor and the toilet itself was not 100 % clean. The parking lot outside (6 EUR a day) was good, but was full when we arrived at 21.30. Instead we used the streets closed by, which worked perfect. No cost and felt secure. /Marcus from Sweden

We visited in October 2020 during the pandemic but experienced great service and felt safe. The beds were very hard but the room amazing in general! The breakfast buffet was fantastic! Only minus was that the pool and sauna should be booked upon arrival, and because we arrived in the evening most of it was booked already. The massage/jacuzzi part of the pool was closed. We would return to this hotel if we go to Kiel again!

Well well, Travelling a lot during covid you experience quiet something but nothing takes the prices as this hotel. First of all they advertise that their spa is fully open again- well it’s open but only one sauna I function - no showers - and you only get a 20 minute time slot to manage both spa and pool !! Same with restaurant - where you in advance have to book a table for breakfast and dinner, and if you arrive like us mid afternoon - there’s only the really inconvenient time slots available. We stayed in this hotel many times before and was always very happy about all , but they have taken covid to an unpresidented level that has no ground in recommendations nor legislation. To narrow it down, all that used to be a commodity is gone - all that you pay is still fully functional.

Great hotel. Far enough from the city to be quiet and peaceful, but only 10-15 minutes drive to city center. Staff was excellent, and the hotel and rooms were clean. I would highly recommend and would stay here again for my next visit to Kiel.

We had a great stay, although in difficult times for a hotel. Because of the coronavirus, the swimming pool was (understandably) closed. We got a free upgrade without asking for it, which was very kind and welcome now that we would spend some extra time in our rooms. The restaurant (a la carte) was open and served delicous meals. The breakfast buffet was not open, but replaced by a complimentary room service breakfast that was very complete. We got some great advice on things to do during our day in Kiel (take the fördedampfer!) and overall had a great stay!

Nice and clean Hotel, have also ev-charging in the back-yard for ev-car. IF something could be better it is t shorten down the time from order dinner to they serve it. Breakfast was super and quick service. Will give my recommandation for This Hotel.

This hotel is very good value for the money. The restaurant is very nice and the breakfast is fantastic. The hotel is located 5km from Kiel city centre, but in nice and quite surroundings. The staff is very friendly. We did not have time to try the wellness area. I can highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel has most pleasant bedrooms which are comfortable and very well equipped, although the door mechanisms can be tricky to operate. The staff are friendly and helpful and fully aware of the door problem. Breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold buffet provided in a spacious and dining room decorated for Christmas. We also took lunch there on arrival and that too was very good. The pool was nice although a little cool but the sauna and steam room were excellent. The hotel has easy bus access to Kiel and is located in a quiet suburb.
