Only positive , the bed was very comfortable. Room very noisy, thin walls, so could hear everything including an alarm going off at 12 am in the room next door. Door had a big gap, letting in light and noise. Bathroom extremely small. No counter space to place toiletries. Furniture and walls had chipped paint. Used water glasses not removed, just replaced. Lovely lobby but could not bring any food or drink into the lobby to enjoy by the fireplace. Stayed here for our anniversary. Expected more. Will not stay here again.

The hotel was very quaint and old fashioned. but the first room we were given (room 22) a double, was very small and the bathroom was not acceptable with peeling paint in the bath and rust down wall and in need of renovation. We were shown another room (33) a queen, in a building adjacent to main hotel which was not much bigger but bathroom was ok and bed was comfy. I would definitely book a queen or king room if we went to Carmel again.

The Pine Inn is in desperate need of an update. Starting with the carpet on the stairs upon arrival. Not a great first impression. When we checked in at 4:30pm, they said let me check if your room is available…really? We had a few pieces of luggage and since we were on the 3rd floor with no elevator, they offered the bell boy to assist. After waiting 15 min at the bottom of the stairs, we decided to just make two trips. It was confirmed we booked the ocean view room and that it is one of the nicest rooms. Well, I would hate to see what the others are like. It was an old, plain white room with absolutely no design or color. The very tight bathroom was in need of a coat of paint and something, anything actually! We were there for 3 nights. Thank goodness the bed was comfortable and their restaurant was excellent!

Parking and location were good. Inn is an old building and probably not safe in an earthquake. Our room was over the wood fire oven and had a burnt smell. Had to ask for a different room. New room was fine.

Great anniversary night in Carmel by the Sea…lots to stroll around and take In…lobby intriguing and story of the Inn.

Loved our stay. The location is perfect. Only issue is no elevator for luggage and the rooms could use a little updating. However, we had a great night.

Shower was dirty with stain on a tub and nothing like a picture.
When asked for towel they did not have the staff to bring the towel.
When asked for snipers they did not have one to offer.
There was no bath rob.
There was no one to take your luggage to your room.
There was no air conditioning in the room.
Ceiling fan was making lots of noise and was unusable.
Room was super Hot.
Once I shared with staff about the ceiling fan they didn’t have anybody to come check it out and the only option they had was providing me with a portable fan which was not a Help.

A little loud in the mornings (room 66) but understandable as the restaurants and cafes had deliveries early so they could support the tourists meals in the day/night

Nice property and friendly staff in a great central location, but the accommodations are small, no air conditioning, no elevator, and the designated parking lot was always full, so getting luggage up and down the flights of stairs and to and from the car was a challenge. Not sure I’d return.

I had room 46 avoid it at all costs unless you want to get no sleep . Unbelievably noisy not to mention 4 flights of stairs up to the room

Quaint hotel in the main area of Carmel. Short walk to the beach (coming back is all uphill!). The hotel was older than it looked in the pictures. We had a suite for a family of 4 which was nice, but we had to haul giant suitcases upstairs due to no elevator.

The building is charming in age . I enjoyed it since I love this type of architecture. Some may not like the age since it comes with a bit of noise traffic because of the way it’s built. Feels like being in an old Victorian era home. I’m not sure if this is the age of the building but I happen to love it! The staff and decor is very pretty! Located in the heart of shopping and walking distance to the beach. Parking is limited. It’s clean and many photo ops.

Perfect location by all the shops and restaurants and close to the ocean. Historic hotel, not modern.

Parking was not available when we arrived, yet the hotel lists parking included. Hotel is very tired, needs a full refresh. You are not allowed to enjoy a coffee in the lobby, yet there is no where for you to enjoy a coffee as you wait for your group to depart the hotel. Every morning, staff members gathered in the parking lot to smoke and talk, their voice carry to the rooms in the back of the hotel.

Charming historic inn in the heart of Carmel by the Sea. Small rooms, no refrigerator or microwave in the room. No elevator.. Parking is a challenge but we were always able to find a parking spot within a block of the inn

1st of all when we arrived, there wasn't any place to park and were told parking is 1st come 1st serve and that we could move our car every two hours. Our room was on the 4th floor and smelled musty I am allergic to mold and got sick. Additionally, we never had a hot shower, the shower was luke warm. Note, the hotel does not have an elevator. We will not stay at this property again.

We've stayed at the Pine Inn before but this is the first time we booked a King Room with a view. Of course I broke my foot before the trip! This historic hotel doesn't have an elevator, the ADA rooms are downstairs with patio access. The staff was so kind letting me know I could attempt the stairs (fortunately the stair case was narrow enough that I could hold onto the bannisters and with one leg hop up) and if that didn't work the downstairs room would be waiting for me. Even on day 2 the staff checked in with me and let me know the other room was still available. But the view upstairs was worth the extra effort and listening to the waves as I fell asleep was such a treat. The coffee from Il Fornaio is one of our favorite coffee stops even when we don't stay at the Pine Inn, we enjoyed waking up to an excellent latte.

Hotel is beautiful and right in the middle of town. However, the parking situation is awful. They have a lot across the street from the hotel that holds maybe 15 cars for the entire hotel. So I was left to find street parking which are only 2 hour spots and hard to find surrounding the hotel. So getting my stuff in and out of the hotel was kind of a nightmare. Other then that, it was a lovely stay
