Hotel is very nice but restaurant closes at 9:30 and breakfast opens at 7:00 only, no way to get something to eat in this hotel during my business time…I think you should improve the service as it is not at the right level for this 4 stars hotel

Great hotel, very smart, clean and tidy, looking over the equestrian race track which was an unexpected bonus. The hotel has quite a business feel about it, but the infinity pool, spa and saunas quickly take you away from that.... Would definately stay again!

The hotel itself is comfortable but there are a few things to consider when contemplating booking here...
1. Price - The extras at this hotel are ridiculously over priced. Breakfast is charged at 21euros per person with a 4euro surcharge if you want cereal!? One gin and tonic cost us 18euros! These are just a couple of examples of the general over pricing. I would consider the prices to be those of say... a five star Parisien hotel not a four star in Marseille!
2. Food - The hotel appears to offer a fairly comprehensive menu and many of the options sound very apetising. Each meal was let down however by ill chosen and bland produce. Seafood wasn't fresh, Veal steak had very little actual meat on it...etc etc. Good get out clause is the Classic Burger.
3. Location - Hotel is right on the outskirts which despite being a good thing (Marseille is not an attractive city) it will cost approx 70euros to get there by taxi. Not the 50euros stated on this site. Nearest metro is 40mins walk.
Spa - Good facilities but not enough sun loungers. We found it hard to get a lounger even at 9am!
This hotel is clean and comfortable but the standards could really be raised quite a bit. This is a shame because there are a number of really friendly and helpful employees at this hotel. They are being let down by their management.

We stayed at this hotel for one night at the beginning of our holiday and for the last two nights. The rooms were very clean in a modern style with comfortable beds. We had a twin room and double room for each of our stays and they were all of equal size. There were flat screen tv's on the wall, plenty of hanging space but no iron, trouser press or tea/coffee making facilities. The bathrooms were large with bathrobes, scales, hairdryer, slippers and minature products. Not impressed by the evening meal that we had in the restaurant on our final night. There are a number of restaurants along the beach front which is only a short walk away and we thought the quality of food there was of a higher quality than that on offer in the restaurant on an evening. On our arrival at the hotel on the first day, we were met outside by a member of the concierge who pounced on us and moved our car to the car park. It was not until we were checking out of the hotel the next morning that we realised that we had been charged an additional 12 Euros for this and that this must have been the reason why people were parking their cars on the forecourt of the hotel. The breakfasts at the hotel were brilliant. It was a buffet breakfast and there was a wide range of choices and the quality was much better than that on offer in the evening.

Ottimo Hotel come struttura e servizi.

Had a really enjoyable stay, room was large and comfortable. This hotel is intended primarily for those who want to induldge in the spa treatment / steam room / sauna experiences. Not so suitable for rough and ready travellers. Most of the staff were helpful and spoke good english, some of them were more than a little condescending.

This hotel has a wonderful pool and spa area and the rooms are very modern. Additionally, there were large bathrooms and everything was clean. Anything requested was happily supplied by the hotel staff, who were mostly very friendly. Also, I left my wallet in a drawer at the hotel on accident and I received an email from the hotel asking where they should send it within a week of my departure. I was a little disappointed with the location of the hotel as it was about a 30 minute walk from the metro and it was several metro stops from the pier and most of the main attractions of Marseilles. However, for anyone looking to just relax at a luxury hotel in the South of France, this is your place.

The Villa Massalia in Marseille was a great hotel all around. Location was residential and quiet, but close enough walk to the boardwalk and Vieux Port for nightlife, and also faced the Parc Borely for walking, rollerblading, etc. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet. An added bonus was guest use of the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi.
