This was our second time at Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto. We were quite happy with our stay. Perfect location, very close to dining, shopping and the Port in order to take excursions to Capri, etc. We picked this location for this purpose and we were not disappointed. Staff was lovely.

Interesting stay - only 1 night. Check in was good. I was early and they suggested I could use the rooftop pool while I waited for my room - lovely. The room was clean, but bedroom area needed updating. Bed was hard and pillows old and flat. Bathroom was nice - but getting in/out of tub may be difficult for the less mobile. There was an air freshener being pumps through the air vents that was very powerful and became really overwhelming. I didn’t sleep. Had a strange experience in the middle of the night - that I was hoping was my imagination. Very convenient location - very quick walk to main Center and shopping. I walked to and from the ferry port with my carry on luggage. It was doable - but not with larger luggage.

Our stay started off a bit rocky. Once we arrived we were placed in room 522. We booked a classic room. For a 4 star hotel, we were extremely disappointed with the room. You could feel the springs in the bed and the room looked and felt like a hospital room. Since we were only there for 3 nights, we figured it wasn’t a big deal. We wanted to go to sleep early (9pm) as we had been travelling quite a bit. The 6th floor above us is the outdoor terrace/restaurant/bar. By 9:30 we couldn’t sleep because we could hear tables moving around, chairs being pushed around. It was terribly noisy! We went down to ask about the noise and reception said they would call the restaurant. Nothing improved. By 11:30pm we hadn’t slept a wink and went back down. We were told the hotel was full and they could only ask their manager in the morning if they could change our room, but “luckily the bar closes at midnight, so soon.” The next morning we were upgraded to a Superior room! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The place truly felt like a 4 star hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel, as it is so central to everything and easily within walking distance, but I would caution you from booking a classic room and being on the 5th floor due to the 6th floor terrace. It’s worth paying more for the Superior rooms!

Very good hotel downtown Sorrento with very friendly staff and very good rooms. Only point to improve the breakfast could have been better.
