We enjoyed our stay, thanks to the wonderful reception by Mr Fabrice. He was very kind and open to help. He made sure all our needs were met. The accommodation was comfortable and had all the requirements.

Lack of on-site parking for me and having self-disposalof all recyclables were only negatives really. At a half mile from the centre ville where parking was very limited made the place a bit remote. Reception staff were very helpful if not there full time and the room and property were absolutely fine.

The location is fairly good, about 5 minutes walk from a great boulangerie, shops and the beach. It's fairly well equipped with most things that you need in the kitchen. However, a lot of this place is poorly maintained - examples: public areas - broken gate switch, broken parking space locks, pool full of flies and debris, foot bath empty; Apartment - skirting tiles missing, mouldy silicone and tiles all around bathroom, rusty mirror, broken cupboard, ancient and smelly pillows, ingrained dirt on patio table, desperately needs a lick of paint! But the place was clean, the patio doors secure and everything worked. (although the ice box door on the fridge was missing!) A bit of love and it'd be a much different place. There's no view, it's trapped amongst other buildings. From the back you can see the salt marshes, just.
No aircon.

This hotel needs major investment and refurbishment. The rooms are tired, stale, and in desperate need of redecoration, new bed clothes and towels etc. The pool area is okay, but again needs upgrading.

I'd be careful before you book this hotel. The reception has limited English so it was very difficult to have a conversation (acceptable because you are in France). I first checked in and they were trying to fix the toilet and had to wait another hour before they were done. The shower was not ideal. You had the hold the shower head as you showered because there was no place to mount it, there was no shower curtain, and if you didn't bring your own towel you're out of luck. This is a bare minimum hotel. It was extremely hot and had zero airflow. The bed looked and felt like it was from the 1980's. When I woke up the next morning the kitchen was full of ants. Being that the reception is closed for most of the day it was difficult to report anything to the hotel. The phone number they had listed for contact also did not work. I immediately booked another hotel for a similar price and it was 100% better than the Mayflower. After explaining everything to the hotel reception they stated "tough luck" and sorry about the experience. Overall in the 200+ hotel nights I've had over the past year this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I strongly recommend against booking at this hotel for many reasons.

Comfortable room, good facilities. 200 metres from shops, 400 metres from the beach.
Good security, room has a TV for relaxation when weather is changeable.
Staff very helpful.
From Airport - take Shuttle bus (ask for a combined Shuttle/Tram ticket) to Plage de Europe.
At opposite side at Plage de Europe, take blue tram to Plage de France.
Cross-over and take Bus 106 - there are 2 x 106.
Bus drivers are helpful and will advise which one for Le Gard du Roi and Aigues Mortes.
Bus & Tram travel is very cheap.
Make sure that you stay on the bus until the Ecoles stop in Le Gard du Roi, i.e. far side of the canal.
So that is 10 minutes after the first stop in Le Gard du Roi.
Enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

This is not a hotel. It is more of what we in the US call a condo. There is no daily cleaning or replacing of toiletries.
The staff was friendly and as helpful as possible, as they spoke very limited english and I spoke no french.
The ResidenHotel is a convienient 5 min. walk to the center of town and the beach. The town has very few english speaking residents. I think we found 3 people in town (not including those in the tourism office, who were invaluable) that spoke english. This is a vacation destination for the French, not English/American

Consider that you are not entering a hotel, but more a holiday apartment. The building is very basic as are the surrounding holiday blocs. You need to do your own bed upon arrival. No problem as long as you are prepared for it. Beds are small and so is the bedroom. Nice big balcony however and very big living room.
