The Owner was very accommodating with our late arrival. Back Inn Time is one of if not the best B&B’s I have visited. Quaint spacious old building & the Breakfast was very tasty.

Beautiful building and felt like an authentic b & b experience. The room was lovely although no TV …not a dealbreaker for us but I think should perhaps be mentioned or called out in the property description. (There is a tv in the common area though). We didn’t ask about the pool but it’s not on the property…just something “nearby” (not visible so not sure where it actually was) and realistically is probably enough of a hassle to put you off using it. The shower in our room was extremely small and very low pressure, again not a dealbreaker and to be expected in an older home. The host was a friend of the owner who was away for the weekend and she was lovely and friendly. However, for the price ($400 USD including tax), I think I was expecting a bit more from the room and inn features iso gave a rating of four stars vs five due to vale for the money.

This is a lovely old house with a very consciencious inn keeper (Karen). Our room was nice enough, and the breakfast was excellent. We did have some issues that we think other potential guests may want to know about. In the Renaissance room: 1. Our door had no lock. An offer was made to go get a latch to install for us, but we politely declined. We'd recommend doing that for future guests. We put a chair in front of the door. 2.We couldn't find a way to control the heat other than opening a window. Then it got cold....3.Due to being an old house, insulation must be poor, and our room faced a fairly busy street -road noise kept both of us awake much of the night. 4. Door to shower room wouldn't close properly so sleeping husband could hear me in the shower & ventilation fan. 5. Lighting in room, especially bathroom poor. 6. No TV. There were some very nice aspects to this property, but for the price we paid, we expected much better.

The Innkeeper (Karen Marie) makes you feel right at home in seconds. Time indeed slows down at the Back Inn Time B&B in a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere. We very much enjoyed our stay and we will be back !

I had never stayed at a Bed at a Bed and Breakfast before and was amazed at how nice it was. Everything was great!!! The attention to cleanliness and detail to all the rooms and the old authentic furniture in this Victorian setting was wonderful!! Ron and Karen Marie and the entire staff made this a good memorable experience for me. I will return.

I had only stayed overnight but it was a good place to stay. I arrived late due to only one train per day. It was a short walk from the train station. Being a small town, restaurants closed early. After being on the train for 11 hours, I really enjoyed a good sleep at this place. It was quiet. Breakfast was plentiful, however, I settled on toast and orange juice. They had served Greek omelets that morning and a choice of drink (acai, cider, and OJ). I had only wished that it hadn't rained because I wanted to sit out on the back porch. The view from the kitchen was great.

I picked Back Inn Time with a vision of grand old house managed by a dignified semi-retired couple and full of courtesy and little charming curiosities that historic B&Bs often offer. For $345 a night, despite not being on the beach and 45 min drive from the closest center of action (Burlington), I was excited.
Well, I was disappointed.
The place have seen much better days, perhaps 20 years ago. It is shabby, old as opposite to vintage. Bed was awful and squeaky. Rugs were faded and felt dusty. Dining room has a plastic ceiling made in the shape of old copper.
The only pleasant part of the house is it deck and back yard - beautiful and tranquil - but in rural Vermont this is rather a commodity.
The inn keepers were super pleasant too… except they were NOT inn keepers but temp subs. While pleasant, they couldn’t answer basic questions (like, “where is the beach” kind).
After a couple of days or so I wanted to move on, despite booking 6 nights. The owner (real one) first agreed to reimburse me for 3 nights. I thanked and left… but then she changed her mind and only reimbursed me for one night, citing complexities with Expedia and other unreal excuses. So we were done with dignified appearances too. In all, a sad experience.

We had the undivided attention of wonderful hosts KarenMarie and Ron. The Victorian House was beautifully furnished and decorated. Breakfast to order was delicious. We certainly recommend a stay there. St. Albans was a perfect destination for a short getaway.

My wife and I have been to countless B&B's over the last 30 years and this was the first one that resented our booking through Hotels.com. While we paid a fairly substantial amount, and the Inn only had 1 other room occupied, we were given the smallest, least comfortable room in the Inn. We were told that by the Inn keeper that we should have booked direct, and they did not like paying the booking% fee. When we said that this is not the room we booked, we were told that the picture on your site is not the room we booked. Since the Inn was empty, there was absolutely no reason not to give us a nicer room with a private bath.
While the breakfast was very nice, the Innkeeper seemed to obsess the night before over whether we were staying for breakfast. This seemed odd since the breakfast was cooked to order, and had we not stayed, they wouldn't have had to cook it. Overall experience was not positive, compared to how accommodating other Inns are.
