Not the best best western we have stayed at. Bed was a bit hard, the room had a lingering cologne smell, and the window shade wouldn't open.

Seems to be new building and still needs to have issues fixed. Room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Hard yo find because we gad to go thru neighborhood or cross railroad tracks on dirt path/road. Bathroom door would not open completely because it rubbed on tile. Blew a fuse in bathroom with only light and hairdryer on. They had a pool but no hot tub. Staff was limited and seemed unexperienced. They were reasonably friendly but I believe that may have been due to guest complaints. Hotel has potential but I think may have opened too soon.

Came to town for the caves, when checking in the young lady was upset she had to get up an come to the computer. She also made the comment that they go get families here, it is usually oil and gas.... Whatever that means. She was also put out when we came back for sodas and waited on our pizza to be delivered. (she even made a snarky comment to the delivery guy) Room was fairly clean but could see it was kinda like they didn't care or it was rushed. Pool was hot and equipment all on the floor. Breakfast was poor as well, not much variety, and the lady working it was on her cell phone and didn't use gloves. The Tables were not washed down after use, contraption for the eggs and potatoes was broken and couldn't get it open without spilling stuff. They had a cool coffee maker. No water unless you bought it or wanted fake sugar/flavored water.

Nice enough, but very noisy for a hotel. Parking was was odd and had to drive through a rutted out dirt drive to get into the parking lot. Things were clean, even though they were loud.

Very cleam hotel, modern touches, very new. A good place to stay in Carlsbad. The railing in the elevator fell off multiple times and there were a few other quick finishes that you notice once you start looking but overall bery pleasant and had a pool which was our main reason for choosing it

GPS directed you through a neighborhood to get to the property- the other exit was very rough and not ideal- I suppose construction but it was very inconvenient

Hotel looks brand new so it was shiny & clean. Area around the hotel however was either under construction or surrounded by large truck industries- not a place to admire the view! Perhaps future plans will improve surroundings.
Breakfast was typical hotel fare but they had run out of many items. Overall experience for a one-night stay was good though.

It is hard to get to because the direct drive is under construction. It was worth it. Light, bright and open lobby makes you feel good just walking in. Front desk person was extremely helpful and nice. The bed was comfortable. We would go back.

Brand new hotel, only downside is the pool area is not yet finished so the pool is not open. The parking lot is great, getting to it kind of sucks. It looks as though they have an easement to the property by the gravel driveway from the main road, or from the neighborhood area behind.
Breakfast staff was very friendly. The evening staff was kind, I guess what an overnight front desk agent is expected to be.
Overall good stay for a short, turn & burn trip to the caverns.

If all you need is a bed and a shower, you might be ok, but this place wasn't as listed. I should have taken the hint when the entrance wasn't paved and the GPS took me through a neighborhood to get there. Then, had to make a lap around the place because the entrance was not obvious. At check in I was told by the lady at the desk that "the pool opens next week". I thought to myself "I could still go drink in my room". I found the ice bucket in my room, but there is no Ice. So I asked at the desk and was told the hotel opened the day before I booked my stay, and machines "have not been installed yet". I am sure that was true because the floors of the room still had dust and construction debris, coat hooks had been drilled but not installed, peep hole was loose and various other minor details like paint dings from setting up the bed that were overlooked in order to open up. (There were tons of minor missed details like the room wasn't looked over before stamping it as good to rent out) When I tried to shower I found the hold and cold water to be backwards. Lastly to top off my stay, the hot breakfast I hoped to have before we left turned out to be a lot of new equipment plugged in and sitting there with only the choices of cereal, toast, yogurt or some fruit that must have been left over from the opening. I can only assume since the hotel has 5 cars in the parking lot at 7am that likely the owner didn't deem us worthy of even filling up the coffee in the lobby.
