Stay with ocean view was great as always! But unfortunately my flat iron to straighten my hair was stolen!! Which is weird because we had more valuable electronics in the room, but this mysteriously went missing second day of five day stay I called the front desk and they said they would ask the housekeeper and asked me to make sure to look for the iron around the room (which I made sure to do before I called). I received a call back saying no one of course admitted to taking it, to which I responded, It must have just disappeared then. The attendant then responded, I couldn’t tell you what the reason could have been. Very unfortunate that the hotel would take something like this so lightly. We have stayed at this hotel several times before as we have family we visit in Ensenada every other year and we had never had this issue. The hotel is usually a safe, clean and beautiful location.

We’ve been visiting Estero Beach Hotel in Ensenada, Baja California, since around 2019, and back then, it was a family-friendly oasis. The hotel had this calm, cool, and tranquil vibe—a safe, serene environment perfect for a family getaway. We immediately fell in love and returned multiple times, but sadly, our last two visits have been quite disappointing. The atmosphere has shifted dramatically. The once family-oriented hotel now feels more like a party zone, with rowdy guests taking over. Groups hang out by the jacuzzi, drinking, yelling, and cursing loudly, with no regard for families or children nearby. It’s not just the noise, but it’s honestly gross; hours go by without anyone leaving for a restroom break, making you wonder if the jacuzzi is actually clean. It’s disappointing and disturbing, and unfortunately, the hotel staff doesn’t intervene. They seem indifferent to the chaos. The rooms, once charming with their “old-world” decor, now just feel outdated and in need of an upgrade. The furniture, lighting, bathrooms, and decor all show their age. During our last stay, our toilet made a strange, whistling noise after each flush, and while the bed was clean, the room didn’t feel particularly fresh overall. The balcony had cracks in the concrete, clearly needing repairs. We have a lot of fond memories of Estero Beach, but given the recent experiences, it feels like it’s no longer the peaceful retreat we once loved.
