Everything about the hotel is amazing, the location is easy and convenient to get to everywhere, especially bus stop 12 which seems to be used by most excursion services. The room was always warm and clean, the staff in the hotel were extremely helpful, I had forgotten an adapter for my chargers and the staff provided me with one free of charge. The food in the hotel is also very nice, especially the breakfast which is 100% worth it.

The entire experience at Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel was exceptional. ALL of the staff was friendly and smiling. They were attentive to our needs, went out of their way to provide excellent recommendations, show us maps, discuss local tips and even follow up with us at later times (without solicitation) about questions we'd asked that they didn't know the answer to. When I casually mentioned one morning to a team member at the front desk that we'd been out late celebrating my partner's birthday, we arrived to our room that evening to find a chilled bottle of champagne and a had written birthday card form the team. The was the epitome of a 5 Star stay and we will absolutely return to stay with Eyja again.

It was our last night in Reykjavik after travelling the south coast for the last week. We stayed in room 407 which was beautifully designed with a four poster bed.
There was complimentary tea & coffee near the bar area, which you helped yourself to.
The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from sea.

I feel like this place is a hidden gem. It is the cutest place, cozy atmosphere, fantastic rooms with all the expected amenities. We stayed here for a couple nights at the end of a long trip and it was welcoming and relaxing. Would absolutely stay here again.

Friendly staff, nice decor, and clean, comfortable rooms. Parking wasn't an issue. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of town. We walked, but the receptionist recommended taking scooters as another option to get into town.

I wouldn’t change a thing about this hotel! ❤️Even the husband commented what a great find this was.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and soooo cute. Comfortable bed. Great location just a few block from the main street. And the shower—hot water and great pressure.

Small rooms with glass bathroom doors (don't offer much privacy). No smart TV's and only 9 channels offered (three of which are radio).

I agree with the other reviewers rating Eyja Guldsmeden 8/10.
What I liked about the property:
Convenient parking out front and behind, although the parking spots are very narrow.
Quiet neighborhood
Next door to Bonus so you can buy some inexpensive food, drinks, and snacks for the day.
It's a little bit of distance from downtown but totally walkable. There are lots of great restaurants and a food hall nearby.
All of the tours we booked picked us up right at the hotel so we didn't need to walk to a nearby bus stop.
What I didn't like:
The rooms are smaller than they appear in the pictures. Our queen size bed took up most of the room with only a couple feet on each side. Things felt a little tight with our luggage in the room, and we had to utiliize the armoire and under the bed.
The bathroom door is frosted glass which also has a small gap all the way around it. It was definitely a bit uncomfortable.
Having a small fridge and microwave in the room would have made things a lot more convenient. The property is next door to Bonus for cheap food, but they open at 10 AM and most people will want to start their day earlier than that. I would have liked a way to keep things cold overnight, and heat them up later. I understand the hotel probably decided against having them because they offer breakfast, but options are nice. (And the breakfast seemed a bit expensive so we decided against it.)

This was a very cute property with convenient parking. It was nice to have meal options on the property and the hotel was quiet with a greay view. The only issue we had was the bathroom. As others mentioned theirs not much privacy with the frosted glass door. The other annoyance was the shower has just a half glass wall which meant the area you enter was open and the floor was constantly wet. The sink also was an issue because it was a bowl so it was impossible to adequately wash your hands without either touching the bowl or spilling water on the counter. Bathroom aside i would use again.

My husband and I loved the decor of the hotel. We also loved how clean everything was. The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous

I loved my stay at Eyja. It is in downtown with walkable distance to everything in the city. There are direct transfers to the airport, lagoons and the day tours from this location. The hospitality is great as well from the reception, dining and room service. And the rooms are super nice and clean. Would definitely recommend!

Very clean, super comfortable stay at this hotel. We needed a cozy place to rest after a long day in the car, and this was perfect! Free parking in front of the hotel with plenty of spaces, and a brisk walk to dinner, we were very happy!

Overall, we had a great stay. Parking can be a bit tight, but the area also had free street parking. Our room was nice, comfortable bed, the decor was nice but made things a little tight, still workable. Good walkabilty to downtown. The breakfast was pricey, but had a good spread with many options.

It was an "ok" stay, but with experiencing other hotels in Reykjavik, I probably would not book again. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad hotel, its just not for me.

This was a very cute, boutique hotel. Very clean and cozy. The room was tiny but very nice. Not many amenities provided her but overall a very nice hotel. It’s a bit of a walk from the city center. I give it a 4.4/5.

Wonderful stay! Lovely staff, always friendly and ready to help. Room was always clean, felt cozy, hot showers and bed was like sleeping on clouds. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Everything was walking distance, my 73 year old mother and I walked everyday. We had an early check in and late flight on our last day and they were able to store our luggage while we went sightseeing. Highly recommend! Thank you to the staff for making our stay one to remember.

I only stayed one night after a driving trip through North Iceland. They upgraded me for the night, so the room was a decent size, nicely appointed, and quite comfortable. WiFi worked great, which was great as I had to do a work Zoom. The hotel is just beyond the Eastern end of the commercial area of Reykjavik, so it is reasonably convenient. Free parking is a nice feature but the lot quite jammed. I got a space right in front, but may have been lucky. Overall, a nice hotel with some style.
