The hotel rooms are a little bit dated but it was very spacious and comfortable, especially after a long day on the slopes. The Onsen was beautiful with an outside area to watch the snowfall. It’s a convenient location with only 10 minute walk to all the restaurants and the free snow shuttles stop right outside the door.

Dirty and old. The caravan type bathroom smelt awful (like sewarage)and the bed covers hadn't been washed in a while! Water in shower scalded my back, thank goodness it wasn't a baby/child :( Told reception staff and showed them the burns but they couldn't care less. Breakfast was just ok. Not good value for money at all.

Comfortable for small or large groups. Breakfast is good. They offer plenty of shuttles to get you around hakuba with the stop being just at the front of the hotel. Ski hire in the hotel is decent. Walking to echoland is about 15 mins which seems longer in the freezing cold.

Tucked away at the end of a street in echoland, this little gem delivers all that's required for a snow getaway. Buses directly to almost every resort stop at the front door, good hotel facilities that provide comfort and an exemplary service team led by the manager. The manager was so helpful and attentive to the guests with no request to big or small.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February 2016. Service throughout the hotel was great, the staff attended to our every need including taking us by shuttle to a ski rental shop and to the ski lifts.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from restaurants, but there are shuttles that run regularly. Note that it is not possible to walk from this hotel to any ski lift, there are scheduled shuttles each morning along with the hotel shuttle upon request.

Tucked away which makes getting out randomly a bit expensive. Breakfast food was lacking and bathrooms are tiny.

Located at the end of Line 6, Oak Forest is within easy access of the slopes at Hakuba. We booked a Japanese traditional style room with futon, which the staff stored during the day and takes out before the evening. The tatami room was super clean and quite comfortable. Our room rate included breakfast, which was frankly average, and did not include dinner. We had dinner one night in the hotel which was also quite average. That the food was less than impressive is more than made up though by the on-site onsen (hot spring) which provided nice relaxation after a day of skiing. Also, the hotel is a 10 minute walk to Echoland, a strip with some restaurants and shops, offering better fare than the hotel itself. Overall, we had a very nice stay, a good ski vacation and was able to do so at reasonable cost with Oak Forest.

We were unsure when we first got there but after a week the place grew on us. We would stay there again. The rooms are good, clean and basic. The onsen is nice. Staff was friendly. It met our expectations. It was an enjoyable week.
The location was better than a ski-in/ski-out place because we could chose depending upon the weather and our moods which mountain to go to and then take the correct 20-minute shuttle right from the hotel's front door.
In the evening, the hotel ran a shuttle directly to whatever restaurant you wanted to go to, near or far. If we ate at Echoland, we would walk back (a nice 20 minute after-dinner stroll). If we ate over at Happo-one or in town then we would take a taxi for about 1200yen. The hotel also picked us up from the train station and dropped us at the bus station. The hotel had good recommendations for places to eat though once or twice we should have made reservations.
The breakfast was a disappointment but passable. Some good bread but I often didn't eat the plated eggs and meat.
The bath was a typical, basic Japanese unit bathroom. Clean and functional like the rest of the room but not fancy.
One reminder: Please folks, wash with soap and water before entering the onsen!

had a great time staying here. The hotel staff were always very friendly and tried to accomodate whenever they could. They even have a shuttle bus that can take you places in/around town which was helpful a couple times for us.
