Very attractive old French hotel, nice change from a souless chain hotel. Warm welcome, beautiful building and dining room. The appearance from the outside was like a Parisian hotel, the view from the bedroom was magical with a tree lined street in full blossom. The decor was a little tired in places but the ambiance made up for it.

Our overnight stay at this hotel was very nice. The room was dark and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed going to the market across the street on the Saturday morning.

I would choose another property while in Limoges. While the staff was pleasant, their services are limited, as the front desk only stays open during hours when they also open their restaurant. This was inconvenient, as they phoned my room and asked me to leave earlier than expected in the morning because they wanted to check out people and leave the hotel as it was a Sunday. I was not able to leave my bag and collect it later in the day before going to the airport. They told me I could leave it at the train station, but this turned out to be incorrect. They also told me there was no bus to the airport, which is true on Sundays, but not for other days. The hotel was in a residential area with nothing around it, and I was disturbed by the neighbors fighting outside across the street. So the choice was to close the window and be in sweltering heat, as no Air Condition, or leave them open and be awake a lot of the night due to the neighbors. I later found there are two new, modern hotels with AC outside of the train station for less money with all the amenities a traveller would need. So, Le Marceau was not value for money. This was a disappointing stay.

Enjoyed our stay, very good value and lovely friendly manager, very entertaining! About a 15 minute walk to the centre and the big weekly Saturday Market is across the road, prepare to wake up early that day!

I stayed here only for one night. The staff were charming, informative, and a joy to chat with. My room was clean, comfortable, and offered the normal amenities one would expect. The hotel's restaurant was excellent and offered several regional wines. There is no parking available at the hotel itself, but street parking was inexpensive or free in some areas.
