It was just a quick overnight, but the bathroom had bugs and the “King Bed” was just two incredibly uncomfortable twin mattresses pushed together. I do have to say though despite that, the check in/out staff were very very kind, accommodating, and efficient. And aside from the bathroom, the hotel did appear pretty clean so it was a little surprising and maybe an off season fluke. But the bed being so uncomfortable far overshadowed the good.

Bed has no mattress, worse sleep in my life

1 towel for entire stay.

We wound up walking out and could not sleep there. Yuck. This place is the proverbial fleabag. Old, disinfectant smells overpower hallways, paper thin walls, tiny rooms without anyplace to sit, mold in bathrooms. Twin room had bed supported by unfinished particle board. One headboard had deep stains. Elevator peeling paint. I made reservations for 3 rooms, based on photos. Family in area tried to see rooms in advance, there were never any available.
I called hotel several times and was assured the family would be together. When I checked in, one room was on 1st floor, one on second, and one on third. Considering that one was for children, that was totally unacceptable. They eventually upgraded our rooms so we could all be together.. Very kind. That's the only good thing I could say. They are unwilling to give us refund even though we didn't stay.

Rooms were very old and not clean. They had a space heater in the room for temperature control. No thermostat and no other heat. Room would get extremely hot from space heater. Would crack window and it became freezing in room. Very uncomfortable the entire stay. Room was in desperate need of renovation.

Old style beach hotel and great value for money. Walking distance to the beach and many restaurants and coffee shops. No need for a rental car. Great Mexican restaurant on site.

Rundown, loud, sketchy, uncomfortable…I could go on and on.
This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. I left early after the first night and never returned, because my kids and I barely slept with all of the noise and the flood lights coming in the windows. The curtains, if you can even call them that, were not the right size and didn’t cover the windows and weren’t even blackout curtains.
Despite the photos I submitted and my complaints, they refused to refund the money for the second night that we didn’t stay there. I would avoid staying here if you are looking for comfort, safety and have kids. This is fine for those looking for a cheap beach vacation and don’t care about the condition.
The first 2 photos of the windows were taken around 11:30pm and stayed on until the sun came up, shown in the “brightest” photo which was taken at 6am after not sleeping all night.

Do not stay here if you have any luggage.
We parked right outside the front door like I always do at any hotel when I first checked in. I went inside, gave my ID and credit card and asked the front clerk where I should park our car. He told me that there is no parking available (the information that hotel shows about parking availability is wrong - don't be deceived!) so I was told to drive around the block to find an street parking spot. When we went outside, our car had a parking citation attached on the front window. The fine was about $50. According to the timestamp our car was parked there less than 10 minutes. I asked the hotel clerk if they could help us requesting for probation or any kind of waiver, but hotel clerks was completely unhelpful.
At this hotel, when you check in/out, you will need to street park your car even just to check in. The available spot could be far from the hotel, so if you are carrying any language, you will not be able to stay at this hotel. Stay here only if you are not bringing anything with you and you are fine with parking somewhere a far from the hotel and walk just to check in/out.
The A/C on this hotel uses windows mounted A/C unit. This requires the window to be opened so you can literally hear people walking on the street. When we were staying, there were people literally yelling and talking really loud and we couldn't not sleep until late and we were woken up by people talking loud outside in the morning. Bring your eyeplugs.

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night.
Pros: location to beach, friendly front desk staff, nice lobby, cute snack bar
Cons: paper thin walls between rooms, awful smell in hallway, in on room the phone & AC was not working - I called front desk to make them aware. Said they’d be up to the room in 10 min. Never showed. On the out for the night, stopped at the desk. They wanted to enter room while we were out meanwhile all our stuff was in the room. Was not comfortable with that. So it was never looked at and front desk would not offer a discount. Broken curtain rod, uncomfortable bed, and window installed AC unit was poorly installed. Pic of AC and curtain posted.

I was looking for a hotel very close to Jones Beach and this one was the closest and least expensive. The lobby was renovated, and typical for an inexpensive hotel that was not a chain. The room was sparse- no coffee maker, and no paper drinking cups. The bathmat was dirty and the air conditioner didn't have a remote control. However the towels and bed linens looked clean. Occupants of the room next door were loud (kids and TV) and kept the outer door open. Another occupant on my floor had an unkempt physical appearance. I suspected that these occupants were either mentally ill or homeless. The front desk worker confirmed that they were homeless and had the right to be there if they paid the reduced housing rate. FYI

This place was gross, dated and unsafe. We left one night early and couldn't even get the name of the manager.

This was definitely one of the WORST hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room itself was in bad shape, bathroom tiny, this hotel should be torn down and start over. Two night in a row there was fire and ambulance called to the hotel with lights and sirens.

Bathroom floors need some work, and the small rug that doubled as a bat mat was gross. Although the unit seemed to be recently painted, the corners need a thorough cleaning. A additional mirror in the bedroom would be nice.

First thing we noticed was no plastic toilet paper holder thingy for the toilet paper holder. Asked about it and was told it was "on order". It's a hotel: this is basic stuff. Go to the hardware store... hell— bring one from home.
Room and hotel was nice enough, I suppose, otherwise, BUT: AC unit EXTREMELY loud, no garbage basket in main room, no coffee/microwave etc, bare-bones TV options.
A few more perks and basic accommodations and this "charming" 1920s-built hotel a few blocks from the beach might actually be an enjoyable stay! $25 for parking FYI.

We booked 2 double bed rooms but when we arrived they told they had oversold and accommodated us with separate rooms instead. There was an event that went late into the night that was so loud it felt like the party was in our room. We had 48 hours with our son on leave from the military and we just wanted a quiet place for him to catch up on sleep and spend time together but we couldn’t really achieve either with the event and the separate rooms. Very disappointing. The rooms were definitely in disrepair with leaking faucets and doors getting stuck, etc.

Extremely nice front desk staff very friendly and personable however the room did not hold to the expected quality. Tekla at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart and very helpful even at the late hour we checked in, however once we got to the room there happened to be a broken swing bar lock which did not feel very accomadating for our safety - otherwise the room was very comfortable and clean. The only other nitpickings I had during me and my significant others' stay is that there is a very bright white light that did shine through the door throughout the night that was a little distracting when trying to sleep, as well as lots of loud yelling/talking in the hallways on top of someone moving some sort of furniture around at about 1-2am which kept us up. I think the staff and flat quality of this building as well as the location is absolutely wonderful but I think there is room for improvement in hotel common area rules as well as late night staff or guest discretion for the other people staying. We enjoyed our stay but going forward I would consider our options even for increased cost.
