We love to stay in this hotel whenever possible. The view itself is just stunning. On the strong end, besides the view, is the spa area- pleasant swimming pool, nice saunas and massages with great staff. On the weaker end the whole dining service is rather poor- breakfast choice is limited and of a lower quality, certainly not matching the place's standards. Staff in the dining area also is on a lower end of training quality. This may be also due to the fact that the same waiters and waitresses were there all the days for the 6 days we spent there...
This place has almost unlimited potential and is always worth recommending if someone can stomach these little dents.

We had a pleasant stay, used spa, played bowling, enjoyed nice breakfast. Views are stunning! Rooms may need some updating but as long as you are after a good location and facilities rather than a modern room, this is the right place :) a lot to do for families as well as couples and reasonable restaurant prices.

Fantastic views. Great base for many hiking trips, if you have a car.
Good but old fashioned spa. Only one massage therapist who was off Tuesday, Wed and Thu.
No hot water in the room one evening and following morning. Buffet food barely adequate. When large group checked in, there was not enough to go around!

Hotel is situated in a stunning location with picturesque views. The hotel has so much potential but feel it is not being maximised to its full potential & stuck back in the 70’s or 80’s & could do with a facelift. Overall, for €200 per night we felt disappointed & didn’t get value for money. The room was uncomfortably hot with no air conditioning. The guy at reception Jakub (mightn’t have the right spelling) was very helpful & did source a fan for us after I asked him, thankfully.
Positives were as follows:
1). Stunning view
2). Nice pool with slide, kids enjoyed it
3). Good games room & bowling alley for kids
4). Helpful receptionist in the main lobby area
5). Decent breakfast selection
Negatives were as follows:
1). Room was far too warm & uncomfortably hot. Air con really should needs to be installed.
2). Shower tray was completely blocked & nearly overflowed in several occasions while showering.
3). No masseuse available for massage treatments despite it being advertised as a spa & wellness hotel. Think there is only somebody available 2 or 3 days a week apparently.
4). Breakfast staff need to be more attentive, on each of the 3 mornings we had breakfast, there was no milk & we were left waiting. To be fair, having more than one jug would help enormously.

Dysfunctional hotel in a beautiful setting. I booked a two night stay at hotel Montfort based on the pictures of an exceptionally talented photographer/Photoshop expert. A few moments after reserving a family room, I received a call from the receptionist telling me there was an issue with the rooms and if we would be ok with a regular 2-person room. Having a very lenient nature, I agreed as they would provide us with a botte of Prosecco and a fruit basket upon check-in. Horrendous was the experience as we entered a worn-out Soviet style hotel, with none of the promised goodies. My complaints were ignored by all present personnel which leads me to suspect a scam operation: a large two-bathroom family room is advertised as the only one available. Once you reserve they tell you a story about overbooking and propose you a smaller room. This way they can sell their rooms at a premium rate. The occasional complainer is satisfied with a bottle of (inferior) sparkling wine and a free dinner at a mediocre buffet at which they can charge you wines at a per centiliter measure. Double profit!
Apart from this negative experience some positives: exceptional mountain view, satisfactionary wellness facilities and an hilariously degenerated air hockey experience in the basement of the complex.

It's the best hotel i stayed in during this European trip. No doubt it takes extra effort to reach the hotel as it is tucked in the mountains but it's still accessible and just needs planning but it's all worth the effort. The views from and around the hotel are very relaxing and memorable. And the staff are more than amazing and very very helpful. They even took the pains to prepare a special breakfast for me because i had to check out an hour before the breakfast is served. And the breakfast they prepared was so much that i had to refuse some of it and I still managed to pack a portion of it for lunch. I felt very safe and well taken care of during my entire stay. The hotel is also family friendly. The families and children i met there were very happy. I had an awesome and memorable winter holiday in Hotel Montfort Tatry and wish i could come back to this hotel perhaps in spring or autumn season.

Hotel Montfort was perfect for what I wanted. Beautiful view, isolated, quiet, great wellness. The staff was friendly and helpful. For the price, it was a real deal.

Great 2 day stay ..Good skiing 20 min drive. Not much to do around hotel for walking distance. Good wellness spa for pool , hot and dry sauna . Jacuzzi tub could be bigger as it is very small for hotel. For me the cold pool made up for it !Will be back again ..

We arrived at around midnight to discover we were the only guests that night that weren't part of a 150 person wedding celebration, they had taken over the entire hotel and the lobby had speakers fit for a proper nightclub, disco lights, etc and was playing music at a volume that left my ears ringing after just a minute of being there, the hotel staff had to gesture to follow them to the fitness center where it was quiet enough to even hear each other, they told us this would continue until 5 AM as "Slovakian weddings are quite wild". The bass could be heard loudly from any point in the hotel. The next morning despite a long phone call from an Expedia manager the front desk tried not to refund us, claiming, "you slept here, so you must pay". Eventually I was able to get a refund.
Overall the hotel was inhospitable. The restaurant and bar were taken over by the wedding, the noise, and in the morning only a few staff were there to serve breakfast as all the other staff had been awake all night dealing with the wedding.
The hotel should not have accepted other bookings during such an event (1 guest who isn't part of the event??), or at the very least contacted us or expedia to inform of this. Having read past reviews, this was not the first nor probably last time this will happen.

Excellent base for Morskie Oko and Czarny Staw. 3 start hotel and expected amenities included. Indoor pool, complimentary breakfast. On-premises complimentary bowling, table tennis, squash, etc. Very peaceful, excellent views, wonderful base for hiking. Free parking. Free and fast Wi-Fi. On-premises spa: sauna included, masseuse extra. On-premises restaurant, most staff do not speak English, use Google Translate into Slovak for effective communication, but it should not be a deterrent. My family loved the place. Good value.

Surroundings and views were amazing. Pool is great. Breakfast was fine, but staff did not keep it well stocked. Room was comfy and staff were very helpful, though we generally used Polish, as more than one staff member had very basic English (but fluent Polish).
