About this house rental
Our home is a haven of peace, away from the busy city & roads of Dublin, yet within easy access.
Our house is ideal for visiting families, with a large garden, courtyard sun trap where you can enjoy a drink and dine outside while being very well sheltered from any wind. The design of our home is a C shape allowing light to flood the house and you can enjoy the various views from on every side of the house.
Light filled communal areas with picture & floor to ceiling windows. A large open plan kitchen/dining with a extra large island, the room opens up to courtyard patio.
The large integral garage is used as a gym with weights, pull up frame, bench, various bands, boxing bag, kettlebells, and a 3 walled climbing gym.
There are plenty of outdoor games for young & older folk alike, badminton, archery, darts, bikes & lots of garden games.
**** We have friendly 2 cats & would love if they could be taken care of**** €50 per day discount applies if you feed & take care of them.
Our home is an easy walk to the local village of Shankill (pub, take-aways, fruit & vegetable shop, cafe, village supermarket with fresh meat). Buses into Dublin city are a 10 minute walk from the house or the train is 25 minute walk.
There are lots of walking routes, into forests & beautiful nearby countryside, for example: Dublin Mountain Way, Carrickgollogan (stunning views), Lead Mines , Rathmichael Wood, Shanganagh Park, all within easy walking distance.
The bustling seaside town of Bray is a 40 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride away, while Shankill beach is a 25 minute walk or 7 minute cycle.
Inside our home is comfortable in year round - each bedroom has heating controls, blackout blinds, and WiFi reaching each room. There is a 4th bedroom that could be used for small children (2 to 6 years / 2 toddler beds). The whole house has oak flooring with underfloor heating throughout. The living room seats 6 people and the dining area seats 6 with additional chairs available in the garage if you have people over.
Powerful rainforest showers in both bathrooms, fully tiled with underfloor heating.
Our garden is without doubt the most fun in summer, theming with wildlife with a bug hotel, wildflower and wild growth areas, and as well as manicured courtyard area. The 1/2 acre rear garden has a wooden play house, water toys, football goals etc.
Children big and small will be happy to explore safely around the garden or cycle up and down the long flat driveway.
As this is our home and we're a family of 5, we ask anyone staying here to treat it with respect and treat it as they would their own home.
We usually do HomeExchanges but this year we weren't able to find suitable accommodation for us, hence we're renting and want someone trustworthy to rent our home. Home exchange profile https://www.homeexchange.com/homes/view/2222991

Oonagh was fabulous with communicating before, during and after our stay. Her home was as described and very clean. She and her family were very generous with their hospitality. Our Shi-Tzu, Teddy, was made very welcome and we also enjoyed the company of Salem and Poppy.
The location is perfect for exploring both Dublin and the beautiful Wicklow hills.
We look forward to having another opportunity to spend time in Oonagh's lovely home.
