About this house rental
Melia is a traditional stone cottage, built amphitheatrically on the slopes of East Pelion, only 10min from Mylopotamos beach. Overlooks the Aegean Sea providing breathtaking vistas. Our cottage goes back to the 19th century and is an integral part of the local architectural heritage. Recently renovated, it includes modern amenities while retaining its historic charms. Surrounded by an orchard and off the busy roads, it assures ultimate privacy, peace and serenity. You are more than welcome!
Melia Cottage is a 19th century, two-storey, traditional house meticulously restored with much respect to its historic character. The ground level is composed of a spacious living room containing a three seater sofa / two single beds, a large table, two chests, and a cast iron wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room where a dishwasher is also placed and a bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower). As for the upper level, there is a living room, furnished with authentic pieces: chests, wardrobe, country sofa, fireplace, etc. It also includes a single bed. This space is connected to a double bedroom with a wardrobe, and a commode with mirror (there exists a second fireplace). There is also a larger bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower). The house offers splendid sea and mountain views. On a day with good visibility, several Aegean islands and Athos peninsula can be clearly seen. In the yard, there are flowers (many of them of bright colors), aromatic herbs, many fruitful trees, and a vegetable garden (guests can pick up everything they desire). Two masonry barbecues are built for outdoor cooking. Besides the stove and fireplaces, the house is equipped with hot water radiators (the system uses oil for combustion). There is a good internet connection through a wireless router. The property has a driveway and a parking space for two vehicles, connected to the house by a paved and lit path.
The Rooms
Our cottage provides a total relaxation experience with an amazing panoramic view to Aegean Sea. Among cherry, quince, plum and other trees you can lay back and try fruits from your garden! Keeping nature and tradition in balance has always been the main goal for us.
The Location
Mount Pelion in Thessaly, Central Greece, is a unique destination combining mountain, sea, and genuine local traditions. Believed to be the home of the centaurs, Pelion is a mountain of history and legends going back to the Homeric Age. It is also well known for a natural beauty and architectural heritage that surprise even the most experienced traveler. Luxurious vegetation and wild flowers, dreamy beaches and pristine blue waters, charming churches and picturesque mansions make of this rugged land a piece of heaven. Traditional tavernas offer local delicacies freshly prepared from local resources. Herbs, homemade liquors and sweets are on sale by the villagers.
