Shady Bear Cabin in Big Bear provides an ideal blend of comfort and rustic charm. For those seeking a tranquil retreat away from the city's hustle and noise, Shady Bear Cabin is the perfect spot. Enjoy time with family and friends, preparing a tasty meal, unwinding in the hot tub, engaging in board games, or reading on the deck with a glass of wine. It's the ultimate haven for relaxation following a day of skiing or boating, or simply meandering through the Village and window shopping.
Kitchen: Unleash your culinary talents in our well-appointed kitchen, which includes both Keurig and drip coffee makers, a blender, toaster, full sets of dishware and flatware, along with paper towels, trash bags, and a dining table. A breakfast bar with stools offers additional seating. You'll find an abundance of cooking appliances and various kitchen essentials, such as a fondue pot and hand mixer, to prepare a large family meal.
Living Room: Settle into a cozy leather couch, enjoy streaming your favorite shows on our Smart TV, and unwind by the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. Stay entertained with a competitive game of chess or choose from our selection of board games.
Master Bedroom: Enter the master suite, The Bear Cave, which boasts a king-sized bed and a 55-inch TCL Smart TV, complemented by a workstation ideal for remote work and an ensuite master bathroom.
Bedroom Two: Enjoy a restful night's sleep in the cozy Wolf Den, the second bedroom, which features a queen-sized bed and a closet.
Bedroom Three: Head to The Woodland Creatures room which is perfect for the littles featuring three single beds (one is a trundle).
Outdoor Space: Imagine a serene escape where the whisper of the leaves and the chorus of nature's creatures provide the perfect backdrop to your relaxation. This outdoor haven, with its tranquil fenced backyard, invites you to unwind in the embrace of its peaceful surroundings. The deck, a cozy stage set with comfortable seating, becomes the ideal spot to savor a delicious meal or enjoy the gentle warmth of the morning sun with a cup of coffee in hand. As the day unfolds and the sky transitions to a canvas of twinkling stars, the hot tub awaits to offer a soothing retreat. For the kiddos, kick back and watch them play at our tetherball court while nature provides the perfect backdrop for lasting memories.
The cabin is located right around the corner from the trailhead for Pebble Plains Ecological Reserve. Hiking trails are all over Big Bear, but even walking around the neighborhood is a hike unto itself. There is one entrance across the street from our front door and to the left approximately 300 feet down Villa Grove. You will see a sign marking an entrance to the Reserve.
Free Big Bear Trolley: Mountain Transit's Free Big Bear Trolley service offers convenient and reliable transportation for both locals and visitors to help eliminate traffic congestion and car pollution in the City and greater Valley.
Traffic and illegal parking are a significant issue for Big Bear during the busy winter and summer seasons. We encourage everyone to leave their vehicles at their homes or rentals and hop on the Free Big Bear Trolley to navigate the town.
Three new routes have been specially designed to make accessing restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops, ski resorts, snow play areas, parks and work easy and efficient.

No pets are allowed in the cabin or on the property.
Please do not eat in the hot tub or add any soap or bubbles. If we have to dump and refill the spa due to misuse, the guest will be charged.
The grill has a propane gas tank. We do our best to keep it filled but it is not included in the rental. There is Moonridge Gas right down the street where you can fill or at the DIY store in town.
