I found zero flaws for a week.
It’s very quiet and respectful to be in woman area, has all perfectly equipped as a capsule.

As a part of my larger trip traveling around Japan, I wanted to make sure to stay at least one night in a capsule hotel, to have that experience.
I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but BookTeaBed was great. I had some trepidation about shared showers or bathrooms, but both were lockable cubicles that gave you total privacy.
The beds themselves were snug and comfortable. You had a locker in the hall by your bed for a bag, which was suitable for a backpack or carry-on-size suitcase (not a check-in size suitcase), and a small lockable cubby inside your bed pod for personal valuables.
If you're traveling light enough that you can stow your belongings, I would say you'd get a lot out of the flexibility and affordability of a capsule hotel like this.
BookTeaBed's selling point about books (it's in the name) is that there's a selection of books to read arranged on shelves across from each wall of beds. There was a lot of manga to choose from, much of it in Japanese (I'm early on learning the language, so I tried to read a little).

It was fine. I thought capsules had an actual door to them but it was just a blackout curtain so it’s essentially a glorified, more private hostel. I pictured a door that locked from the inside and that idea in my head made me feel more comfortable in terms of security as a woman. The floors however have their own codes and there are woman only floors/bathrooms. The accommodations were fine for the price.

Friendly and polite staff. Clean. Comfortable pods for sleeping. Good location, 5 to 10 min from subway/train station entrance (depending on the entrance)

I enjoyed my stay and i will come again. The staff was very friendly and my bed was nicely made when i arrived. I felt like the shower area could have been a bit cleaner.

Need to take about 10-15mins from JR Shibuya station to hostel but still acceptable. Place was clean and quiet.

This is probably the best option for a short term stay for solo travellers in Tokyo. Pods are clean and have plenty of space and the facilities have everything you need (showers, wifi and a coffee shop on the first floor). The location is definitely the highlight though (5 min walk from Mega Don Quijote and 12 minute walk to shibuya crossing meaning any Tokyo metro or JR line is easily accessible and there is tone of stuff to do and eat nearby at most times of the day). If your worries about having your stuff stolen, don’t be. This was one of my biggest concerns with staying in a place with shared facilities, but the staff were really nice and let me store my luggage with them at a storage room behind the front desk. So you can just take everything you need and store it in the provided locker that is right outside your capsule. Check in and check out procedures are really simple and quick too. Would definitely recommend this place and stay again if I get the chance to. I’ve stay here twice during the course of my whole trip (2 night and 1 night stay) and I have had no issues whatsoever.

The book tea bed facilities were clean and the hotel was in a great location. Super walkable to a 7/11, a Family Mart, a Starbucks, and a large part of Shibuya. It's pretty close to the station too. As for the bed, I got a good night sleep, but it wasn't the most comfortable. 8/10 bed and pillow setup. Also, I love their coffee shop and their staff and it's customer service is top notch.

U never need to wait for using the bathroom or toilet

Convenient location right next to the heart of Shibuya, with no shortage of options for activities. Easy access to transportation. Comfortable bed and the storage solution was great! The only complaint is that there is only one toilet for my floor, but I didn't end up having to wait during my stay.

It’s as it seems in the pictures, clean and organized. Friendly staff and easy check in and check out!

I took 12 students and another faculty member to experience a capsule hotel and this was an excellent choice. Facility was clean and staff was very nice. Front desk was a little overwhelmed upon our arrival but did a nice job checking us in. If you are tall like the most of the men in my group were, you may have trouble fitting.

Shibuya, it turns out, is kinda dirty. As in, there are piles of garbage on the sidewalks in the morning, and they attract birds. And they're gross. But be that as it may, this place was a nice stay. On the up-side, the staff was lovely (and spoke English). On the down-side, the bathroom floor was kinda filthy and the bed wasn't very comfortable, but I slept on top of the bedding they gave me and it made it pretty comfortable. And I don't think there was a single TV in the hotel. Ah well, Showroom on the tablet will put me to sleep too, I guess.

Con
Wish the mattresses were stuff and little more.

a bit of a far walk from shibuya station but still a good location! bed was thin but my expectations werent high, was a good stay for just one night! held my bags after check out & offered to hold before check in! staff was friendly and also spoke english :)

The facility was clean and it is a safe area. The staff are very helpful and stellar.
The storage box fits a medium sized luggage, mine fit. There is a slot for shoes (which the facility) asks that you put away. They provide slippers.
The issue is more folks bringing rather large luggage and rather than leave it with staff downstairs, they leave it in the hallway which poses a safety issue. But that’s a lodger issue NOT the facility. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was amazing for a first time in Japan. Near the Shabuya crossing and a major train station. 7-Eleven and Starbucks rights around the corner, along with other amazing eateries. Highly recommend. Super Clean! Will go back when i go back to Japan. :) Great for solo travelers!

Everyone at the front desk are helpful given my non-existent know-how of the Japanese language. The place gets cleaned every day and maintenance of this cleanliness is dependent on those staying there at that time. Same goes for noise level. At the time of my stay, one person was awake late at night into the early morning and was moving or fussing about her stuff. She made a lot of crinkling plastic bag noises.
Being less than 10 minutes away from Shibuya Station has both positive and negative. Positive: proximity to the station and availability of stores/eating places. Negative: Scramble Crossing and crowds in general.

The property is in a great location, located in a main but quiet area of Shibuya. There are many bars and dining options. The only thing would be is the fan in the capsule room was dry and the storage cabinets were too small to fit in my luggage and other travellers, which caused everyone to leave their bags outside of the storage locker space, which made it messy and not secure.

Decently well! Love the value. I wished the wifi was stronger on the floor I was sleeping. Bathroom can be cleaner, but it was serviceable. Would consider coming back!

Tucked away on a side street but a very welcoming environment with a large range of books and helpful staff. Would be great to see it expand to have more types of rooms/pods available and more showers and toilets available. But good overall

Overall the property was nice. Bunk rooms were quiet, bathroom facilities were decent, and the area of Shibuya is great. Only gripe is that some deeper cleaning could be done. For example, the bunk cubby and shower cloth bin.

The simple curtains they have to separate the beds don't block the noise or the light completely. You end up listening every time someone arrives or leaves and the noise they make during the whole night. There wasn’t hot water either to take a shower. Really poor experience…

The bathroom was clean and spacey. The books were not intellectual. It was almost okay, but the price can be lower.

Easy check in and great location, walking distance to Shibuya crossing, restaurants and shopping. Very clean and the bookstore theme was cute. Love that they let me store my luggage there for free on the day of check out.
3.0 / 5.0
Positives: capsules had nice lighting and little fans inside. 7/11 located close by.
Negatives: storage lockers were very small, futons were extremely thin, capsule creaked at every turn (plywood) and the bathrooms were so cold, they may have well been outdoors (winter).
1.5 / 5.0
It was a good place for cheap but with being a capsule hotel, you have to share the restroom with several other people. There were 2 showers, 1 toilet and like 4 sinks. They also give you a storage for your stuff but unless it’s carry on size, it won’t fit so most of us just left our suitcase in front of it.

I had an excellent stay at this place! The cleanliness was impressive, and the staff was incredibly helpful. The location, right by Don Quijote in the heart of Shibuya, is unbeatable. Ideal for solo travelers, I met amazing people and explored the town together. I only stayed for one night, but the experience was so fulfilling – highly recommended!
