About this apartment rental

Welcome to this 750 square foot (70 m2) private apartment on the third floor of a multi-family home in a convenient area. Newark International Airport (EWR) is a short distance away. Hospital, bus, and convenience stores within walking distance. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. There is a large eat-in kitchen equipped for basic cooking. There is no living room. This is a private space and not shared. No parties, events, or smoking of any kind -- this is strictly enforced.

This is the entire third floor of a 3-story house. Each floor is its own private apartment. Please note that this apartment has three separate bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. There is no living room. This space is on the third floor and you need to use the stairs to go up to the apartment.

You can walk or drive around the neighborhood quite easily. Street parking is not too difficult and there are no permits necessary for street parking. Please pay attention to any posted parking restrictions (e.g. street cleaning) as I cannot be responsible for your vehicle parked on the street. Thank you.

I am available before and during your stay to answer questions and help you have an amazing stay. I request that we communicate via the Airbnb platform.

This is a historic neighborhood with mostly working families living there. Weequahic Park nearby is large and has many places to walk, jog, ride bikes, play tennis, and there is also a golf course there.

NJ Transit Bus No. 107 stops 6 blocks away from the house and takes you to 42nd St Manhattan NYC in about 35-40 minutes. The bus costs $6 per person. You can use NJ Transit Bus No. 39 to reach Newark Penn Station in about 20 minutes and it costs $1.60 per person. NJ Transit Bus No. 37 connects you with Newark Airport (EWR) and takes about 15 minutes and costs $1.60 per person.

Please note that heat is provided from October 1 to April 30. Air conditioning is provided from May 1 to September 30.

The amenities that are listed at the time you book the unit are the amenities provided. Please review this list of amenities before booking.

Self check-in and check-out are available. I have a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. I will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival.

The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with me. I may not be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night.

I have 1 parking space available in the driveway and the cost is $20 per day to use it. I have multiple Airbnbs in the building so please inquire if you are interested in parking and I’ll let you know if it is available. The space may not be available during your travel dates so please check with me before booking.

Also, this apartment has 3 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, and 1 bathroom. The apartment does not have a living room. Up to six people can stay here -- 2 in each of the queen beds in the bedrooms. I just want to set expectations from the beginning. Contact me with any questions.

Please also note that this apartment is located in an older building. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what I can provide given the age of the building. The apartment looks like the photos in the listing and I keep it updated and clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.

I also just want to make clear that you are renting an Airbnb and not a hotel room. There are many differences between Airbnb and hotels, and some newer guests on Airbnb may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, I am an individual host and manage my listings to the best of my ability. I try hard to create a good experience for my guests. I am including this disclaimer here because I have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view Airbnb as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. Thank you in advance for understanding this.

Finally, I have a yacht parked not too far from this location. If you are coming to the New York area for tourism and you would like a private boat tour of New York Harbor, I would be happy to arrange it. The views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, etc. are amazing out on the water. Please contact me for more details if you are interested in a tour. Thank you.
Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will also be given the choice between a security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed.

Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).

Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. My cleaning fee is lower than most Airbnbs and it covers basic cleaning like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!

If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.

If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, I will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, I will charge fees in addition to this $300.
