The resort is beautiful and the staff were extremely accomidating. It was our honeymoon and the room was beautiful. The queen size bed, however was two beds put together - we called it the "great divide". Room service was always fast and the food was outstanding. It was a trip we couldn't afford to do every year but well worth it for our honeymoon.

We could enjoy very much. A car is necessary because town/harbour is far from the hotel. Hotel's restaurant is expensive as all said, so a package including breakfast is recommended. Beach club has good atmosphere, but again expensive.

Really great hotel definately deserving it's 5 * rating. The rooms were great and the service from the staff was brilliant. 'La Cabane' the beach club was beautiful, really well equipped etc but the beach area was a little bit disappointing. In the evenings you will need to get a taxi in to Marbella (go to the Old Town which is gorgeous with great places to eat and drink) and taxi's are about 8 euros 1 way.

this is an all around excellent hotel...beautiful and full of class and grace...the only drawback is that eating/drinking in the hotel is extremely expensive and due to it's location, you must travel a distance for other options....

This is one of Marbella's grand old hotels, whose heyday was probably in the 70's and 80's (when my parents stayed there!). So some of the common areas are a little tired, but the flipside is that there's plenty of room - the pool gardens, for example, are very spacious. We had a great rate through Expedia and were upgraded to a suite in the new wing, which was large and very comfortable. However I therefore don't know what the standard rooms are like. Food is high quality but expensive. Beds in the pool gardens are very comfortable and free, but beds at the hotel's Cabane Beach Club (a short walk/shuttle away) are very expensive! The beach in that area is very poor, which means that the Beach Club is basically an elite pool club away from the hotel and the main pool - we were very happy with the main pool in the beautiful gardens.

We stayed at Hotel Los Monteros for our Honeymoon at the start of July 2007. It was ideal for a romantic getaway, if you dont care what you spend. The food is great, champange buffet, dinner in the restaurant was perfect each course couldn't have been better, we ate twice in there in four nights. Arrived late first night and the restaurant was still open (to 2330). La Cabane beach club, owned by the hotel is a short stroll away, there is a shuttle bus (hotel is abput 600m from the beach but has a pool). The buffet lunch here is Euro70, but has everything you could want, they will cook any type of steak, seafood to order for you. Entertainment is quiet, despite there being several families (good for us).

The Hotel oozes charm & the staff delivered the service that a five star hotel commands, well done to them all. We only stayed for a few days without transport, any holiday longer would have definitely required a car as the Hotel is a little way out of Marbella & the taxi fares can add up....50gbp from Malage airport one way,7gbp into Marbella one way. We ate in Marbella most nightimes & there are some lovely restaurants to meet most needs. Whilst we were there the beach club re-opened after refirbishment & there were a lot of complaints about the quality of the food, so be careful as it isn`t cheap. The Hotel food was excellent. The Hotel lacked atmosphere in the evenings as most guests ate out, possibly aware of the high prices, this was a shame as the retaurant, hotel & grounds are superb.

Hotel Los Monteros is an excellent place to stay. As soon as you arrive and enter the smart marble reception area, you are impressed. I have now stayed there three times and will do so again. On the last trip, we took friends of ours and they too enjoyed the experience. The Hotel has an air of peace and tranquility about it that is ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Nice hotel. The beach club was a little far to walk but very nice once you get there. the cabanas are a bit pricy and the beach is too rocky and small to actually use except for swimming. But overall it is a very nice place to stay and I would recommend it.
