About this bed and breakfast
One of New Orleans' most unique vacation lodging properties: the Engine 24 French Quarter Firehouse Bed & Breakfast... one of the few VRBO properties that is licensed by the City of New Orleans for Bed & Breakfasts! (City license 24-XSTR-04116) Stay in an authentic historic firehouse while enjoying the modern amenities of this renovated gem.
We are located in the heart of the Faubourg Marigny, considered by many travel magazines to be one of America's hot neighborhoods. Next door is the French Quarter, one of the most historic and charming areas anywhere. And to the other side is the hip, funky Bywater, a neighborhood which, like the Faubourg Marigny, features great local eateries and cool bars.
Our bed & breakfast is a restored fire station designed to function as a comfortable home away from home for tourists and locals alike to come and enjoy the vibrant culture that is New Orleans. Formerly, this historic building housed Engine 24 of the New Orleans Fire Department! Local architect William Sonner purchased and renovated the Firehouse in the 2000s and it's now one of the city's most popular vacation rentals!
The Firehouse has 7 bedrooms...3 loft bedrooms on the Main Floor, 2 bedrooms in the Penthouse, and 2 bedrooms in the courtyard. Combined, they sleep 14-16 people comfortably and with lots of privacy. The bedrooms provide a place that is a perfect for getaways with friends, family gatherings, etc. Our 7 bedrooms are always rented together so all guests can enjoy the Firehouse.
The Firehouse has two large private living areas and a newly renovated New Orleans courtyard with fountain, outdoor seating and more.
Please note: The Firehouse is a very popular building and usually books weeks or months in advance. We're often in phone or email contact with multiple groups for the same dates. The first party to initiate payment or provide proper credit will enter into a reservation with us!

This was the most awesome spot for a good respectful time with friends! We loved every minute and ended up just spending time at the house. Great location to walk to Frenchmen and Quarter! Also the communication was the best we’ve ever had! Really can’t thank you all enough!

Visited NOLA for my 50th BDay and to run in the red dress run with 10 friends and family. Had a great time, wonderful city, and love the charm of the firehouse. Only small complaint is the location, it was a 15-20 min walk to Frenchman, Bourbon, and main shopping areas. We were willing to do this to stay in such a nice and unique place, but need to know this going in. I do recommend staying here.

Incredibly memorable stay. Beautiful place and convenient location, well worth the price. Spacious, quiet, fun and luxurious.

We had such a great adult trip to NOLA! We had a group of 10 and this property was perfect for us! Plenty of room, so much character, everyone had their own bedroom/bathroom/privacy. Walking distance to so many places and we felt safe. Beth was so helpful, informative and maintained great communication. We will stay again in the future!

Really cool place to stay with super cool features and unique nooks and crannies throughout. Well kept and historically preserved. AC was really great during the sweating June days in NO. Although the top floor AC was out in the front of the building, Beth set us up with an adequate floor air conditioning unit that kept the area comfortable. Overall a great place that is walking distance to Frenchman street with some fun neighborhood spots nearby.

Stay was great! Only criticism I have is finding out the upstairs AC wasn’t fully operational on the day we arrived.

If you've ever stayed in a novelty-type place you know that lots of times the reality doesn't match the hype.
Not here. These hosts have thought of everything to make the stay amazing. A property like this has an endless amount of upkeep, and yet they haven't missed a thing. We loved it so much!

Engine 24 House was a great stay! We enjoyed all of the carefully selected furnishings that showed the history of the firehouse. We definitely recommend this house for a unique vacation.

We had 10 friends come for French Quarter Fest and this place was PERFECT!!! Comfy private quiet rooms, gorgeous places to hang out; we especially enjoyed the internal patio. Super convenient to walk from. Safe, quiet, spacious, comfortable, good communication, well-stocked, conveniently located… I can’t say enough good things! We would definitely stay here again. One person said it was the best nights sleep he has ever gotten!

This property is really cool. Great job of sticking with the firehouse theme without it being corny. Perhaps not the best place if you have someone in your group with a disability as there are a lot of stairs but wasn't a problem for us. Only downside I can think of is walking back to the property after hitting a couple of bars in the neighborhood we were threatened by a person who implied he had a gun and told us not to be there. Other than that it would be good for someone looking to book that all bathrooms are connected to bedrooms so if you fill all of the rooms with your party there isn't a handy bathroom for common use. Everyone had a blast. Cheap, quick Ubers to French Quarter. St. Roch Market was a huge highlight of the trip with something for everyone. Truly unforgettable. Would absolutely book again. Pool table was a huge bonus that added to the fun.

The house was very spacious and easily accommodated 6 golfers. Courtyard was a nice retreat. The gathering area was large enough to easily accommodate 12 golfers. The description stated hot tub which was in error. The pool table was a nice treat.

I loved this property as soon as I saw it while searching for a place for 11 adult family members to stay to enjoy Nola before a Louisiana wedding. The Firehouse is special, attractively furnished and a fun place to stay. Beth was easy to communicate with and easy to reach.
The Firehouse has strong showers and robust wifi. It was a wonderful place to return to after hours of exploring the city. The Firehouse is a 15-min walk to the French Quarter and Beth clearly guides to walk along Royal St and to rideshare back at night. Of course we forgot and followed Google Maps instead the first two nights and admittedly walked through a sketchy area that made most of our party nervous. Listen to the host’s suggestions!
The two kitchens were well equipped but we didn’t use them since Cafe du Monde and other great eateries are nearby. The laundry room was well used though, as was the pool table and plastic fire hats for photos.
My only negative was a gas-like odor that seemed to permeate from the kitchen stove. Beth immediately arranged for plumbers to come over who assured us of no gas leak but the smell lingered and we kept four fans on most of our stay. We appreciated Beth’s prompt attention.
A lovely stay and would love to return if we ever reconvene as a large group again in Louisiana. Thanks so much to Beth.

Our group was a total of 12 people age ranging from 23-40. Most of us hadn’t been to NOLA before this location allowed us to explore the area and spend time at the house without feeling cramped!

11 of us stayed here for a bachelorette girls weekend. Engine 24 exceeded my expectations! The check-in process was very easy and convenient. The property itself was stunning with its ornate and historical details. Everyone was able to sleep comfortably here. Each room contained noise well and was pretty quiet. It was a pleasure to stay in a piece of New Orleans history.

The building is so cool and the neighborhood is ideal! Not too close and not too far from all the action. There is plenty of space so a big group never feels cramped. Beth was a great communicator! We had a wonderful time.

This stay met all our expectations! My husband and I were celebrating our 40th birthday in NOLA and I always wanted to stay here. We had 13 guests total and it was more space than expected. It's about 15-25 minute walk to well known attractions such as Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, and the French Market. The host was very responsive in my questions and also gave great recommendations on activities, bars, and restaurants near by. There were parades scheduled the weekend we visited and passed through just one street over. It was such a fun experience! If you are looking for a rental to hosts 10-14 guests, I would definitely recommend this unique property.

Nothing but great things to say about my stay at the firehouse. Had a group of 13 people and there was more than enough room for everyone. Private courtyard was a plus. Great location to walk to all sorts of things that NOLA has to offer

My group of friends was in town for our college reunion and this place was perfect. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which worked out well for our groups of couples. The place itself was so cool and cutely decorated for fall/Halloweeen. The location was an easy walk to Frenchman Street and very close to some cute cafes & restaurants. We loved our stay at the firehouse!

We highly enjoyed our stay at the Firehouse. The space was perfect for a group of 13. Everyone had their own bathroom and there was plenty of common space for us to hang out. The neighborhood is very cute - a short (20 ish minute) walk to Bourbon Street if that’s where you’re headed. Overall, would stay here again!

We had the most wonderful weekend at Beth's property - the firehouse is such an interesting and cool space with true NOLA history! Very spacious with multiple areas that allowed our group to convene comfortably or have private space. Beds and rooms were comfortable and the house was well appointed - each room has a bathroom! Beth was such a helpful host answering all our questions swiftly and allowing us early check in. The location was close and easy between French Quarter and The Marigny/Bywater. I would absolutely recommend to a group looking for a spacious and fun house in New Orleans!

I can not begin to express how amazing our stay was. Beth was extremely accommodating and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. Her attention to detail and professionalism made our stay wonderful. The Firehouse was immaculate and even better than we expected. Staying in such a historic building was unreal. YOU HAVE TO RECREATE THE PICTURE OF THE ORIGINAL FIREMEN FROM STATION 24. Even if you only have a few people, it is definitely a bucket list attraction when visiting NOLA. We had people out front taking pictures of the Firehouse daily. It really is an amazing once in a lifetime place to stay. The area around the firehouse is great, A nice locally owned coffee and breakfast shop and a neighborhood market with everything you will need for your stay. Undoubtedly worth every penny…

We had a great time at the fire house. The house has beautiful high ceilings and so much space - it was great for a big group. We had great weather too and got to enjoy the courtyard too. It was absolute perfection! Beth was super responsive and helpful with local recommendations. I can’t say enough good things about the experience!

We could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. The house is even bigger than advertised and it was walking distance to everything we wanted to see in the French Quarter. We did not need a single taxi the entire time we were there. Beth was a wonderful host, and I would give 6 stars if I could.

This place is fantastic for a group. We stayed here with our wedding party for our wedding. It was a great place for a small group of adults. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and there are multiple solid hangout spots. Really cool decor and feel. Good location a short walk to Frenchman and a medium walk to the french quarter.
