We were very happy with our stay and the room was perfect for a family of 4.

On arrival we were upgraded to a larger room. The room was fitted with very short, rock hard bed made of wood and a AC not able to cool the room at all. After telling the hotel about our bad first night, they moved us to a much better room, with a comfortable bed and a well functioning AC. Very friendly staff but bad communication (the rock hard bed the first night, a malfunctioning laundry machine that apparently made our laundry come back dirty and they initially wanted us to pay full price for the service). Nice breakfast and good food. No beach access from the hotel which was a surprise for us.
Overall a nice experience but not worth the high price.

Lovely hotel and great location to the sea. Book a sea view room. Excellent breakfast which is cooked to order. Our room didn’t have a tv but you can ask at reception to put one in. To be honest the area itself is so great you don’t spend much time in the room. Very close to Galle and Unawatuna beach.

The design of the property is beautiful - great attention to detail. It is quirky yet elegant. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to shower in a different room after we checked out of our room as we wanted to stay by the pool longer.
However the twin beds were extremely uncomfortable. It felt as if there was no mattress and we were sleeping directly on wooden planks. For such a lovely hotel it was quite surprising that this was the case.

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for, small boutique hotel that was a little quirky. Met the owners who made us feel very welcome

The Owl and the Pussycat was the most amazing retreat. Every time we went out to explore local beaches or Galle we were more excited to return to the oasis that is OTP. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure guests are comfortable. I would go back to Sri Lanka just to stay at OTP again.

Uber fashionable boutique hotel overlooking the sea. Very trendy restaurant, stylish decor, good food and excellent, friendly staff. Only drawback is there is no beach in front of the hotel and most of that coast is too dangerous - rocky and rip tides - to swim. If that is not an issue for you and you are ok swimming in a pool then everything else gets top marks.

If you’re looking at this property stop looking & just book it! I spent a few days solo at OTP & it was total bliss! Great room. Fantastic food. Abaxing staff! Great, beautiful place to relax & chill. I didn’t leave the hotel until I had to check out! Stunning sunsets to be watched as you sip a cocktail in the bar! I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels in 10 years of visiting Sri Lanka & this one is right up there!

The OTP hotel receives rave reviews for a very good reason. The setting created the opportunity to create a haven, and that is exactly what has been achieved here, with the pool, bar area and dining area combining to form a perfect set-up. When you consider the level of service provided by all the staff, it truly stands out from the crowd.

Around a 2hour drive from Colombo airport to OTP Hotel in Galle. One of the nicer hotels along the strip, as the remainder seemed to be Guest Houses. The view from the hotel was gorgeous, overlooking the ocean and stilt fishermen. Rolling waves and beautiful colours. The hotel itself looks much larger from the photographs, so don't expect large grounds, but rather small quaint dining area and pool. Pool was a touch warm, but perhaps due to the blistering sun around April when we visited the hotel. We were "upgraded" to the Suite E Pie room, however bigger than the room we booked, this was on the ground floor and our door opened out to the gift shop. Not the privacy we wanted, although the doors/windows were all blacked out. We asked to move back to our original room, but they had booked that out. We found it more of a demotion rather than an upgrade. Breakfasts was served by the ocean in the main dining room, mainly outdoor seating. The continental portion was OK, but the food had to be covered by nets to watch out for the flies. Don't expect great things here, but it was doable for 5 mornings. You can also choose from a selction of hot breakfast's, a mix between Western and Local. Overall was ok. The Dinner menu was more varied, but again, don't get yout hopes up too high, and they add on a hefty 30% surcharage at the end so it quickly adds up. Highlights were the special Lobster that was avaialble on our last night ($90 SGD for 1kg) and the Passionate Pussycat cocktail.

Amazing room and the theme was carried throughout. I love that they were environmentally friendly and did not provide bottles of water. Instead you get a jug of water in your room. The bed and pillows were amazing. We were pleasantly surprised when we were informed everything in the 'mini bar' was complimentary. Yummy canapés were also provided free in the evening. We were disappointed there wasn't much of a sand beach in front. And our greatest horror was when we realised the bathroom window was not tinted! The shower stall is right at the window and our balcony was connected to the next room! Not to mention, guests from a 3rd room also had a clear view if they were at their balcony. We discovered by accident when one of us was in the balcony and the toilet light was switched on. The staff were stunned as they confirmed NO ONE had ever noticed this, themselves and past guests. We had to wait a while and look for them a 2nd time before they came with plastic sheets to cover the windows. They did apologise profusely and promised to have a permanent solution the next day, but we were only there 1 night.
