Eclectic main floor in a heritage home, ROSEWOOD, built by shipbuilder Samuel Dawes circa 1895.
Renovated in 2011, the house combines original character with modern updates.
Located in a family neighbourhood.
The closest bus stop is 1/2 a block from the house.
The bus ride to the nearest Skytrain station is 15 minutes.
Vancouver is 16 km away
YVR Vancouver airport is 20 km away

The City of New Westminster is located along the Lower Fraser River, on the unceded, traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the QayQayt Nation and all Coast Salish Nations.
New Westminster is a walkable city with public transit and is bicycle-friendly.
Lime e-bikes are available for rent throughout the city.

The main floor of ROSEWOOD is on the 2nd floor of our 3-storey house.
The suite is self-contained and fully equipped for all your needs!
There are seven stairs up to the shared front porch & front door.
The main floor includes:
* A bedroom with a queen-sized bed at the front of the house off the front porch & front hall.
The mattress is firm with a removable memory foam topper.
A twin XL floor mattress is available by request.
* A living room in the centre of the house, furnished with a big comfy couch and two wing-back recliners, plus seating in the bay window
* A fully equipped kitchen with big windows offering a view of the backyard & access to the shared back porch
* A tiny bathroom off the kitchen, with a claw-foot tub to soak in
The entrance is a shared locking exterior door at the front of the house.
This door must be kept locked at all times!
There is a private locking interior door.
Professional cleaning by local small business, Bclean. 100% of the cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners.
2 dogs and a cat family (indoor/outdoor) live with the host on the top floor of the house.
In old houses, sound travels, so it will be possible to hear the other people and animals in the house.
The yard and garden are not landscaped or manicured.
It is a "wild urban pollinator garden" work in progress!
We are part of the David Suzuki Foundation's "meadowscaping" and "lawn share" programs and are certified by the Canadian Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat.
On our property are trees that drop leaves, twigs, berries, and apples, & there is wildlife in the city; squirrels, birds, spiders, raccoons, skunks, rats, bats, and coyotes to name a few.
