Beautiful location, comfortable hotel and we had marvellous weather to enjoy the surroundings.

Evening meals were tasty and wholesome.

The full breakfast was a let down. Bacon was under cooked, sausage was square sausage which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I included beans and these were poured over the bacon and sausage. The staff member who greeted us in the morning always said “is it a table for two?” It would have been so much nicer if you had been welcomed with a cheerful good morning. They were very efficient but you can also be pleasant!

A relaxed stay in a beautiful location

The setting was amazing and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were large and spacious and very clean. Parking was easy and everything ran smoothly

The quality of the restaurant food. I am a non UPF eating vegetarian. Most breakfast goods were very processed.

Wonderful hotel in a stunning location

Absolutely stunning location, amazing view from the room. We mainly visited for the badger walk which is a two minute walk away, but would stay again for the hotel and the walk through the falls of Clyde, lovely gift shop as well through the cafe

Great hotel with stunning walks and views, lots of free parking and great rooms / value for money

Brilliant hotel, the location is just stunning and the main reason we chose it, the walks in the surrounding area are incredible and right on your doorstep. Plenty of parking and easy to get to, we stopped en route to St Andrews from Manchester. The room was huge and really comfortable with a beautiful view, we slept really well (water pressure in the bathroom was also great and the shower was very good!) The food was good and reasonably priced with some vegan options that were yummy (we had dinner in the restaurant). The staff were really friendly and when we had some issues with our car when we were set to leave and had to call out the RAC they gave us complementary late checkout so we didn't have to leave our room whilst waiting, thank you so much!

Unique Hotel Experience

Huge room with double aspect. Somewhere different to stay from an ordinary hotel in beautiful historical surroundings. Lovely river walk on your doorstep

Sofa bed for kids very uncomfortable. Was rushed through dinner somewhat even though the restaurant didn't appear that busy. TV from neighbouring room seemed exceptionally loud through the wall, suspect this is default volume rather than them turning it up though

Lovely hotel

The hotel is in a beautiful setting with walks by the river Clyde. The views from the roof top garden are amazing. Lots of visitor attractions including the Annie Mcloud experience. Well worth a stay here. All staff were welcoming but the young lady behind the bar went above and beyond.

Prior to arriving unable to get spa staff on phone for over a week, also did not respond to my email Changing rooms at pool needed attention. Staff on pool reception was just disinterested. No robes or slipper, very unlike any spa I’ve been to No soap in any public toilet dispensers One lady in bar and next day in restaurant rude and disinterested Corridors piled with laundry, dirty dishes and rubbish Breakfast - dirty milk jugs, dirty glasses. Square sausage was off, tasting and smelling sour. Realised that this is what the off putting smell was through the corridors Although most staff were pleasant, lack of training and experience was evident

Just about everything.

Just a couple of minor quibbles. Wi-fi was unobtainable in the room, unless you sat directly against the room door. While I understand the building is grade a listed, not sure why that precludes interior secondary glazing. Room windows are single glazed sash type, so prone to draftyness. Breakfast was ok, but have had better: 'continental' style was fine, slightly spoiled by cheap bread and pastries, while cooked was good, but was puzzled that the advertised potato scons were unavailable - simplest things possible for a decent chef to make, surely ? Especially as the quality of the food for the evening meal was high, like the price.

This is a great centre for outdoor hiking, indoor swimming and relaxation in beautiful surroundings.

Very attractive hotel situated within this prestigious Heritage Site, by the spectacular Upper River Clyde. Great breakfast and very helpful staff.

Pretty poor value for money

Health suite (pool, sauna, steam room) and the bar was very nice

The room was not clean upon our arrival, with the bed sheets stained and nail clippings on the bed and floor. This was reported and housekeeping did attend the room. Following their visit, we also noticed about 10 or so spiders (mixture of alive and dead) in the room. The restaurant was poor. For dinner, the starters we had were nice. We both ordered steak pie for main course and the meat was tough and quite poor quality (more like a packeted steak pie than butcher meat that I would expect at a restaurant). At breakfast service, there was also mix ups with our order, with my breakfast being served without beans and my partner being served the wrong type of eggs with her breakfast.
