Comfortable and great location in town, within short walking distance of the beach, cafes and restaurants. Barbara is super friendly and helpful with lots of local recommendations. Gave me a lift to Addis Point to do a scenic hike back into town. Would definitely stay again!

Very welcoming, comfy mattress, inviting fire in the evening, value for money and good location as it's just out of the hub but close enough to beach and eateries.

Needed a place to stay in Anglesea for work for 1 night. Everything was really expensive so decided to take a private room in the backpackers which was the most affordable I could find (except for camping which wasn't an option). Bedding and towel were provided, staff member/owner was wonderful, the wood fire was lit so the communal space was nice and warm, and they had put a little electrical heater in the bedroom so it wasn't too cold there. Bed was comfortable and I had a good night sleep. There was no one else staying so I had the whole place to myself!
The interior is a bit dated, but honestly, that doesn't really matter! I also would've expected to be able to find something cheaper than $135 - but this was by far the cheapest in Anglesea, so I guess the price is fair.

The host was very welcoming and showed us around the house. We were lucky enough to be the only guests the night we stayed. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans as well as a few condiments and spices. The houses has a nice charm, and is painted in soothing beachy colors.
Everything was good.

The location was fantastic. We booked a private room for one night on our Great Ocean Road Journey. You can tell from the photos that the decor of the place is a little outdated so no surprises there however it was extremely clean, comfortable, affordable and exactly what we needed to a one night sleep.

The location was perfect for what we needed. It was only a short stay but worked well for us.

Nice and clean room, with friendly staff. They patiently waited for me up until the midnight to open the door.
The location is a little hard to find. It also a bit too dark at night to find.

Great place, private bathroom, very nice owner, cute front porch to sit on

Arrived around 7:40pm and was greeted happily. Easy to chat too, and all information given in a timely manner after a big day that we had. Easy to find and off street parking a bonus. Shower hot :)

Our stay at Anglesea Backpackers was better than expected! It was a perfect stop for two older travelers who wanted something quiet and convenient but still homey. ABP was all that and more. The rooms were comfortable, the bathroom, though shared, was clean and never too busy, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we could have needed (though there are several dinner and carryout spots close by). Barbara was so helpful and even drove us to the start of an awesome cliff hike that we walked back into town. This place really has everything and is such a great value!
We didn't realized the property is technically closed from 10am-1pm for cleaning, it was not a problem for us since Barbara took us on our hike but it might be better advertised for folks who want to chill there during the day.

It was clean and the kitchen was well fitted out and host Barbara very welcoming
Small room with bunk bed over the main bed so difficult to get in and out of bed if sharing but it was great value for money

Barbara is really sweet. The accomodatiom has everything you can ask for.
It is a little cold in the rooms. Altough you have a small heater that works great.

Basically the main house comes with small budget friendly rooms and shared fully equipped kitchen, meals area, lounge, toilet and shower facility, wifi. Only one room comes with ensuite which we stayed. Use of fireplace and washing machine is an additional fee. Fresh pillows, linen, blankets and heater in our ensuite room are also provided. Comfy bed. The owner lives at the back (also the office) of the main property which is convenient in case you forgot to bring your room key. Parking is available in front of the property.
There were limited place to eat. By 4pm most of the cafes in the area were closed. It would be better if there were more choice of food. There were only three shops that were opened Asian, fish and chip and pizza. It was at least a 30 mins wait for the fish and chip. 45mins wait for the pizza place.

I loved the vibe of the place, it’s not a large backpackers so you’re not sharing with a lot of other people, it’s intimate and lovely.
nothing- even my fussy kids loved the place

Great first stop along the great ocean road. Very kind and welcoming host was nice enough to put on a fire for us and made sure we were comfortable. Facilities are sufficient for one night.
One bathroom with a small shower, not much in terms of entertainment in Angelsea - but that is alright if you just need to rest after driving!
