The inn was beautiful and the staff were very welcoming. They served an elegant breakfast.
We happened to be there during a heat wave, and there was no air conditioning, but we got a decent cross-breeze and slept well.

One of our favourite stays in Novia Scotia. The house and grounds are beautiful. The owners very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a delight. They did everything to make our stay and time in Parrsboro enjoyable.

Nestled in parrsboro, it's a lovingly maintained house with updates that were matched to make everything flow. The hosts were beyond friendly and had great suggestions of day trips. Breakfast was also fabulous and the two cutie dogs that wander in also made it worth while. We would def recommend

We were staying at another B & B the night before arriving, and when they found out where we were going (The Gillespie House Inn) they told us it was by far the most outstanding B&B ever. Boy were they right. The Gillespie House Inn sets the standard for the whole country....wonderful hosts, a room with lots of character (comfy beds, wonderful shower, etc.), quiet as can be (and right on highway 2), and the best of all....the breakfast that outdid everything we've ever had. We told the lady who served us that we'd have to stay 2 more nights so we could try out the other entrees on the menu!! Do you hear that?? They give you an actual menu - and we chose the French Toast with real maple syrup. Say no more :-)
You're kidding, right??

The breakfast was amazing, very well prepared and served with loving care. They were over and above to be helpful especiall when when they realized my mom and I had issue with step. It was very centrally located and easy to find and I would certainly go back again.
there was really nothing we didn't like,

My sister and I stayed two nights at the Gillespie Inn and thoroughly enjoyed the Inn and the beautiful gardens. Lori and David were very helpful with any questions we had during our stay. And how can you go wrong when you are greeted by Piper and Abby, the black lab and golden retriever? Bonus!
Leaving Piper and Abby behind....

innkeepers and the official greeters (the 2 dogs) were very friendly and informative, good sized room, nice garden and porch as well as many sitting areas inside
could hear next door guests (but that’s probably because it’s an old house), exhaust fan in the bathroom turned on with the lights. a separate switch would be nice

The breakfast options were healthier than at typical B&Bs, which was nice. Room was quiet and soaking tub was nice. Grounds are very pretty and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy. Loved visiting the geosites and fossil cliffs
Had to carry luggage upstairs, but I expected that given the age of the house. Restaurant choices are very limited in town, especially on mondays and tuesdays.

Breakfast was very good with lots of selections available. The private dining area in the library was nice. Lots of great books to peruse well!
Our room was located beside the main road so there was some noise from the cars going by in the morning. The coffee could have been stronger and having a carafe available for early risers would also be a nice touch.

We stayed for three nights. The house is a beautiful old house, rooms nicely decorated. There was a nice atmosphere. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast, included, was charming too - sitting at a nice table by the window, a newspaper ready for reading, a bowl of fruit with yogurt, a yummy muffin, then a main of eggs and toast, pancakes or french toast; really nicely put together. Lori and David were super friendly. The location was very good, within a short walk to town and to the BlackRock Bistro (an really nice place to eat). It was too cold to sit outside but in warmer weather the outside veranda looked like a great place to spend an evening.
Wifi was weak in our room at the top of the stairs; the mattress was springy, so although still somewhat comfortable I could hear the springs creaking when we turned in bed or got up off the mattress in the night; the shower head was not great; one night we could hear a dinner party going on downstairs and although it did not disturb us too much, it might have if I had been trying to sleep - I can see that soundproofing could be an issue. Otherwise, still a nice stay.

Gillespie House was delightful! Lori and David were welcoming and kind, the entire property was charming, with tasteful decor and wonderful spaces inside and out. Breakfast was delicious, with amazing homemade jams accenting 4-5 fresh / local / organic choices (granola, waffles, blueberry pancakes, eggs). Terrific!!

A lovely place to stay in Parrsboro - enjoyed the breakfast, the friendly owners, the gardens, and the decor of the beautiful heritage home.
The single beds were a bit narrow and a tiny bit on the hard side!

Delicious and fulfilling breakfast with great muffins. The centre of the town for shopping and dining is within a walkable distance in most cases. Two of the recommended restaurants are outside the town. The property has a lovely garden with lawn chairs so you can sit there in the sun and enjoy a bit of nature. Lori and David, the friendly owners, definitely know how to keep their visitors happy. I felt very at home. All in all, a great place to stay for as long you can.
Nothing. All fantastic.

Grand old house. Very well maintained. Extra welcoming hosts even in with these trying times.
The village's dining services close, as many do, for front of the week. No chance to try (and support!) the local culinary scene.

From the minute we walked in, I realized that we were in a lovely spot. The Inn is beautifully decorated recognizing the past shipping history of parrsboro Nova Scotia. Beautiful antiques abound and walls are adorned with art of sailing ships from the past. The entire Inn is spotless, beautifully decorated, the room that we had had a lovely on Suite with tub and shower, sitting area and a very very comfortable bed. Gillespie House is less than 10 minute walk to Main Street where there are a couple of restaurants to choose from as well as many little shops. Our host and Hostess were very pleasant and served a lovely breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend Gillespie House.
There was nothing that I didn't like here at this beautiful spot
