The historical preservation of the houses, including details inside the homes.

Location was close enough to what we needed but far enough from the noise of downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
No elevator.

We love these beautiful houses and the location is perfect! Breakfast is fabulous and the staff is outstanding!!
Could use a few updates, even though they are historical.

charming and a block away from the Institute of Arts
Detroit artistically speaking
parking should be free

beautiful old homes, lighted on-site parking for a small fee, comfortable bed, great breakfast with a generous timeframe. super friendly & helpful staff, overall a very clean room and breakfast area.
Overall very clean but a couple major cobwebs in the corner of our bedroom and in the bathroom. The ceilings are very high, but it would be better to not have cobwebs! Also, the first night was very calm & quiet but the second night someone ran up & down the stairs, slammed doors, and were up all hours walking around above us. Then decided to play the piano in the main room at a little after 9am on a Sunday. Not really a major issue or anything the property could have done, but it wrecked our visit a little

This Inn was exactly what I was hoping for when I booked--and more. The staff, including Trinity, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They answered my questions quickly. We were especially happy to be able to leave our car parked for several hours after room check out as we were visiting an attraction within walking distance.
I felt special staying in our room/in our building (Owen House). The continental breakfast was adequate and in keeping with the reasonable room rate.

that it felt kitsch!
that we were placed separate from where you have breakfast land could make hot drinks.

* The location is great: Right in the city in the WSU area. * All of the staff I encountered were warm, friendly, and helpful. * The breakfast was fresh and wholesome. * The room was beautiful.
I was on the 3rd floor, with no elevator. (Great exercise! 😁 )

location and history
under new ownership they have managed to cut the amenities that made it a cut above the rest. from a full wonderful breakfast to continental and they eliminated the shuttle service as well. the rooms were not clean whatsoever and the window in our room was in disrepair and wouldn’t close all the way. major step down from the previous owners. and when emailed of the situations including being booked in the incorrect room.. I got “sorry”….700.00 dollars later and I get “sorry” been going to the inn since 2014 probably NOT returning..

Tremendous interior. Very cozy room in a140 years old house.
1. Cold fluids from the window right near my head
2. Shower steam was very narrow, you have to extensively turn your body to wash the soap. And our was chilly in the bathroom, so one half of your body is cold while another of hot from the water

elegantly charming

Excellent Location if Visiting the DIA
The location was the best thing about The Inn. It was downhill from there. Person who checked us in barely had 2 words to say to us, didn't give info about breakfast or how to access internet.
The breakfast service was pitiful. The two who were supposed to be working it sat at the front desk and chatted while the coffee ran out and hadn't put another one on to have ready. The breakfast pastries were of poor quality....for $250 a night I would have expected bakery fresh, not cold store-bought. The bed was covered in a sheet, not a period-looking coverlet or spread. Only one window opened. The heating/cooling was not working. There were 2 pumpkins on the outside stairs. That was it for seasonal decor. The grass was beautiful, but the planting areas were sad-looking with dead annuals and no mums, pumpkins or anything to add color and curb appeal, while the property next door did just that and made The Inn look pretty sad.

Our stay was very nice. We liked having on site breakfast and coffee available. The staff was very friendly.
We were woken up at about 5:00 am with the trash company emptying their dumpster. That was extremely annoying to us.
4.3
Spacious and comfortable
WiFi is very bad, no mini bar in the room or even water
