Location and staff were excellent to a person with one exception;most of the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful with the exception of one of the managers who when we had a problem, didn't do much to resolve it other than to tell us how busy they were...
We liked almost everything, except for a bit of misrepresentation...we chose a room on the first floor on the beach (based on room descriptions and website photographs), as we wanted a walk out to the beach and the cabanas/beach chairs. However, when we got there the section of the beach in rooms 101-107 (we were in room 5) were blocked out as that is the events sections of the beach and there were three weddings on the beach scheduled for the day we moved in. We love weddings, but not blocking our view to the water, compromising our privacy and keeping us from enjoying the walk out of our room to the beach. We asked to be moved, and initially got a stalled, we're too busy to do anything response. When we pushed back a bit, it was agreed we would stay in our room for the first night and then they would try to move us the next day down the beach to a room away from the so-called events section of the beach. We were moved to room 121, and the remaining two days of our stay were perfect. We would suggest that on your website you mention the sometimes limitations of the first few rooms on that side of the property.

The facilities available and the space of the site that the hotel is located on, on the beach around the lake. It is a well kept site and all parts including rooms are very clean.
The rooms are in need of modernising and an upgrade, including the bathroom. The air con is noisy.
4.5
Love the location and so many places we can walk to. Room was comfortable.
A little bit noisy in the back of the resort.

Had a wonderful time! Beautiful and peaceful. Five minutes away from the beach ⛱️

The view was nice and the dockside restaurant had a great breakfast and lunch. The woman working at the front desk with dark wavey/curly hair was amazing and so was Benjamin. The staff at the restaurant was great. The staff at the air stream could benefit from a customer service lesson.
It seemed outdated. The fitness center had minimal machines. It was very loud in the morning. Our room was by the pool so every morning I was woken up at 7am by screaming children at the pool. Whatever was above our room on the 5th floor constantly was dropping things and I heard thuds throughout the whole stay. Sunday there was an event and I could hear the DJ’s music till midnight. It was impossible to get a good night sleep or sleep in even though the beds were comfortable. The resort should invest in insulated glass to block out the noise.

The property on the outside looked great.
Talked to the manager before getting into San Diego. Said they would try their best to have the room ready by 10am. I also asked them about special request on the last night for my wife’s birthday and they could set up the room with flowers, champagne and so on, they said they could.
Go to check in around 11am and they said come back later around 4. Came back and they said my room number was 142 but it wasn’t ready. Went out for dinner some place by the beach. Finally, they call me at 6:15 saying my room is ready.
The guy at the counter said, “sorry about all the delays, we’ve upgraded you to a nice suite, your room number is 142 and sorry for the trouble getting your room ready”. That’s the same room he said we had earlier.
Get into the room, the sofa has blood stain on it, the best sheet has a blood stain on it, there was dog hair all over the floor. Called for housekeeping and never showed up.
The housekeeper never showed. Staff in the office never fixed the problem and they said they were short staffed.
The room never got decorated for my wife’s birthday. We never got our towels changed, we only had half a roll of toilet paper.
$1,000+ was not worth this place.
Like I’ve said before, I’d like my money back.

Nice location and wonderful staff
Overpriced food, dated decor.

Great location! Walking distance to parks, beach, and restaurants. The kids loved the heated pool and the access to the bay. They also loved the rescue seals.
The on sight Restaurant was very expensive.

I liked that the room was clean and well kept. I loved that the room provided a mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave and even a toaster. Plates, cups and silverware was also available for our use. There was laundry on site which was a pleasant surprise. It was very nice having a heated pool and jacuzzi! We were able to go swimming despite of the weather being a little cold. I have already recommended this resort to my friends and family and plan on returning soon!
The sliding door was a little hard to open and close. The patio was not remodeled like the rest of the room. Other than this, no other dislikes.

Location was excellent. Right on the beach (bayside) and a 5-10 min walk to the ocean. Helpful staff. Nice ammenities.
The resort is on the smaller side and everything is a little tight (parking, pool, etc.). Its obviously an older resort, but they do a good job of maintaining the facilities.

Excellent restaurant on premesis. Very clean. Kind staff. Great location. Pretty dated decor/ carpet. No ac in seperate bedroom which made for a warm sleep. Sleeper sofa not comfortable at all.
Wish we had a nap of what type of rooms were located where on property before booking. Many more favorable locations i was not aware of. Enjoyed our stay but would probably look elsewhere if we return but it was super clean!
Mainly dated decor, old sofa sleeper. No ac in seperate bedroom.

Clean, staff amazingly helpful and courteous, so much to do on the resort and surrounding area. Slept practically on the beach - couple not ask for more! You
Need to maintain the outside of the garden/bungalow rooms a bit more.

The food was amazing, the staff beyond friendly and the location was perfect!
Cleanliness of the garden view room could have been a little bit better but it was not bad. Cobwebs in the ceiling and hair of the precious guest in the shower.

Location was stunning and the staff as well.
When the pool bar is closed, iced water should still be supplied.

Staff was freindly and accomodating. Loved the "activities" - daily trivia and the scavenger hunt was fun. We arrived on THursday and ate in the restaurant. Loved having the live entertainment - he was amazing. I like the walking distance to Mission Beach/Bay. I like the access to the cabanas and having someone serve food and cocktails on the beach. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and gym. ALL THE STAFF WAS SO FREINDLY & HELPFUL!
The room coffee/creamer was awlful. COFFEE in the morning is so important to us. Please have good coffee and liquid creamer options such as coffeemate vanilla. Also, the restaurant should have a cappachino machine too. We did the evening boat ride with the DJ. This was fun but the staff did not seem "happy"... The DJ didn't interact with the attendees... ALso, some complimentary snacks should be provided. Popcorn, nuts, cheese/crackers...something. Would be nice if there was some complimentary transportation to Misson Beach/Bay. I was hoping for Pedal Cabs... Lasty, I just have to mention that the restaurant tacos were not great. The salsa was like tomato sauce and the guac just ok. The burger was AMAZING.

Very clean and great amenities. Excellent location on the beach.
We liked every thing about it.

The location is great. So close to OB but without all the noise and crowds (you do need a car to get around tho; free parking on premises is great because parking really sucks throughout all of SD. We felt safe and secure the whole time we were there. It's also awesome that they have their own little private beach althought there was a lot of seaweed and debris so I didn't go in the water.
The restaurant is the highlight of the resort. Everthing we ordered on the 2 times we went was great. No complaints. Try the breakfast buffet! And the chilaquiles are to die for!
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The pool is also nice and clean. I didn't go in that or the hot tub because there were a ton of kids in both, but my boyfriend and bff went in both and enjoyed.
The beds are very comfy in the room and nice and clean. The room isn't tiny and the patio area is awesome even though ours faced the parking lot. But it did have a water and Sea World view which was cool.
I took my fur baby and he had a blast (lots of walking areas for him). He was also comfy in the room because the A/C was great (he gets hot easily like me).
The first day we got there, we went to Mission Beach downtown to grab tacos. I ordered a jugo de jamaica which is very red in color like fruit punch. I brought th rest of the juice back to the room when the styrofoam suddenly gave out and the juice spilled on the carpet. We went out to get carpet cleaner, but when my boyfriend went to use it on the carpet, none of the juice lifted but ALL of the dirt on the carpet did! It was so disgusting. That's when we realized how dirty the carpets were. We must've been so excited to be on vacation that I can't believe we didn't notice it before. It was disgusting dirty. Thank goodness I don't walk barefoot anywhere, but if you do, beware!
That wasn't bad enough because on our last night we saw a HUGE cockroach on the curtain. When we called the front desk, they told us not to kill it, that they'd come to kill it. I said to her, "We weren't going to wait for you guys! We already killed it!" We then requested a room change, but that was impossible because she said that the resort was at capacity. She did offer to waive the pet fee and the resort fee, so we got about $200 off which wasn't bad. Needles to say, we didn't sleep too well that last night because were were so worried about more roaches coming out (when there's one, there are many! IYKYK!), but it does beg the question: are they used to getting complaints about cleanliness because the young lady who credited us did it very happily and quickly????
The cleaning people only come on the 3rd day to clean, and when they did come, we were still getting ready so we asked them to come back. They never did, so we never got our room cleaned. The front desk said that sometimes they can't come back to the rooms who refused cleaning the first time because of their busy schedules. We were disappointed with that.

Exceptional staff, location, amenities.. truly a beautiful, fun resort. Can’t wait to go back
I really can’t think of one thing I didn’t like about the property.

We had a view of the bay and a balcony to sit on to watch the sunset and just enjoy the ocean breeze. The location is great because it is close to many venues. Their restaurant had a nice menu and food was very good.
The grounds were well kept but it just seems a little old. Not that it was a turnoff but I just felt it could use some updating.
3.0
Location is great and in short walking/driving distance to many kid-friendly activities.
Cleanliness of the facilities needs work. The floor of the room felt dirty upon arrival. The third day “housecleaning” was more tidying up than any actual cleaning of surfaces floors. We also encountered spiders and a coach roach in our room.

We love the location of the Bahia. Close to the ocean. We had a view of the bay this time. Totally worth it. The restaurant was awesome. Nearby to Old Town and Point Loma. This is our 3rd visit. Love the kitchenettes! Our favorite is the North Tower.

Location was good albeit weather in San Diego was mixed when we were there.
Rooms need a good upgrade. Rooms felt dated and damp. The cleaning regime of only every 3 days was disappointing and not what I would expect for the price we paid.

San Diego
Filthy carpet (we neverwalkedbarefoot) , roaches, zero housekeeping, OH, they brought two 'complimentary ' water bottles! For $500 a night, you get two waters, now that's actually insulting, and I would've felt better without anything "complimentary "!

While the property was definitely dated, and could use some renovation. From early in the AM the staff was constantly busy keeping things tidy and neat.
A bit dated. Food was very expensive. I wish they had some sort of breakfast buffet , especially with a family.
