About this villa rental
Situated less than 200m from one of the finest stretches of sand on the Costa de la Luz, Casa Almadraba offers a combination of beach, comfort, and mature gardens that is very difficult to find on the Cádiz coast. Within the exclusive residential area of Roche, the house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac that terminates with steps leading down to the perfect Atlantic beach that stretches some 7km in one direction, where it finishes at the abandoned tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri, and 500m in the other, where low sandstone cliffs rise to form a series of tiny sandy coves and rock pools known as the Calas de Conil. Built less than 20 years ago, the house is Andalus in style, with white-washed walls and terracotta roof tiles. It sits in a mature garden, shaded by umbrella pines and surrounded by palms, rubber plants, bougainvillea, and wisteria. It has a stunning 10m x 5m chlorine-free pool that is fully enclosed and is surrounded by a traditional brick terrace and bamboo pergola that filters dappled sunlight for the ideal siesta.
The décor is simple yet comfortable, with whitewashed walls, lovely black and white prints of the surrounding area, and high-quality furnishings. It is a house that is both cool and fresh in the summer (all the bedrooms have traditional esparto blinds) and cosy in the winter months (there is central heating and an open fire). Previous guests have enjoyed, in particular, the enclosed pool area and the choice of sitting-out areas (entrance patio, dining terrace, pool, and garden). There is satellite TV, DVD, and a music system.
Accomodation at Casa Almadraba is on two floors. The ground floor includes a pretty entrance patio full of scented plants, a large drawing-room with separate dining area, fully-fitted kitchen, large double bedroom with bathroom and direct access to pool, and a small bedroom with shower-room. As well as the entrance patio, the drawing-room also has access on to a covered terrace used for dining (built-in BBQ in the garden), and the dining area accesses onto the swimming pool. On the first floor we will find three bedrooms (one double and two twins) and three bathrooms (one ensuite).
There is off-road parking for one car, although there is no problem leaving the car on the road. A walk of about 500m will take us to the local shop, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants, and childrens’ playground. Roche also has its own tennis and padel courts and five-a-side football pitches. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from within walking distance, some of which are now staying open all year. A 5-minute drive will then provide you with a far larger selection of both bars and restaurants. The area offers an endless list of activities and if you book with us, we provide you with detailed information on all our recommendations, details on local amenities, and our up-to-date guide to the best of everything! You could spend a wonderful holiday here without a car, and just hire bikes; but, assuming you will have a car, it’s 15 minutes to Conil, 20 minutes to the hill-top village of Vejer-de-la-Frontera, 30 minutes to Cadiz, 40 minutes to Tarifa and Jerez, and 90 minutes to Seville, all of which are well worth visiting.

The house is super nice, lot of space, well equipped and the garden with the pool is just perfect! Roche has so many nice beaches close by which makes it a great location for a relaxing holiday on the beach.

The only downside was you needed a car as it was too far to walk to any shops or restaurants

Wonderful house. Andrew had been very helpful and we enjoyed the stay. The house is very spacious and has a lovely layout..few different area for chilling and sitting. The only thing is I would suggest..it would be great if the house can be cleaned at least once or twice a week during our 2 weeks stay also if we don’t have to change the covers for the beds ourselves at the end of our one week stay as we were on holiday.

Absolutely Fantastic Villa
Casa Almadraba was absolutely fantastic! The villa was even better than the the description & photos that were provided. Although we came in from the United States I have family that live in the South of Spain about 20 km from Roche. Everyone that came to visit could not stop talking about how wonderful the villa was, and proximity to the beach. We spent time going back and fourth between the beach and wonderful pool. We loved the outdoor space with the bbq, ping-pong table, outdoor eating and lounging space this has to be one of the best all time vacations we had. The inside of the villa was very, very clean, everything functioned as advertised including the Air Conditioning. I can't say enough good things about our stay at Casa Almadraba I am so bummed that the vacation is over we will be back and next time stay longer!

Wir hatten in dem Haus in Roche einen wunderschönen Familienurlaub mit 8 Personen. 3 Generationen haben sich von Anfang an dort wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet. In Wirklichkeit ist es sogar schöner als auf den Bildern. Es ist alles mehr als benötigt vorhanden.
Andrew ist der perfekte Gastgeber, er war immer für uns erreichbar.

The perfect property
This was our sixth annual three-generation family get-together in Andrew's beautiful house in Roche and once again we had a wonderful week.
The house has a great sense of space and peace and feels more like a home than a rental.

Perfect Holiday
Our stay was perfect! Even though we fully booked the house with 10 people, we never felt cramped, there was plenty of nicely decoured space and so many really nice bathrooms. The house was in very good condition and the kitchen (we cooked nearly everyday for 10 people) really perfect. The garden and pool area though were outstandingly georgeous. The beach was close, beautiful and never even slightly crowded. Our hosts were very attentive and looked out for us on our stay. The only tiny disadvantage is that the wifi is not covering all rooms evenly well. We will visit again!

Great place
We holidayed as 3 families with young kids in May. The house was great with the pool area which can be closed off, lots of amazing garden space with sunshine and shade to play in and sprinklers on timer which the little ones loved! Andrew provided us with good travel cots and highchairs for the tiny ones. There are a various different seating areas around the garden so we were able to all be together or spread out as we wished if we were in the house. We also enjoyed using the outdoor BBQ a few times.
There is a vast unspoilt beach just at the end of the road, which really is amazing to have close by, as well as a kids playpark a little walk away but we didn't really use this. We visited the nearby coves which are beautiful and more sheltered for windy days - under 5-10 mins drive away. Roche hasn't got many amenities, a pharmacy, cafe and restaurant but 2 supermarkets nearby and Sancti Petri and Barossa very close with more lovely beaches. We visited lots of local towns and beaches (Vejer, Conil, El Palamar). We took the kids horse riding at a nearby riding school.
We were there for 10 days and in hindsight it would have been good to arrange a mid-stay housekeeping. All in all it was a peaceful place, great for a group and we all really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful,stylish villa close to the beach
This villa is wonderfully located 2 minutes walk from the a fabulous sandy beach which literally stretches for miles. We walked along it every evening, almost alone, to watch the sunset.
The property is stylishly furnished and well equipped with lots of space, particularly outside with lovely gardens, a shaded pool area, a covered dining area and a fabulous, private, intimate courtyard (our favourite).
There is a lot to see and do locally, Cadiz, Jerez and the coast being especially interesting and Andrew and Maria are a font of local knowledge (Try Casa Luis), and exemplary hosts.
Having stayed in countless villas over the past 30 years we would not hesitate in recommending this property.

Idyllic escape
Casa Almadraba is such a lovely place that three generations of our family have been coming back here every May for the last six years for our annual get-together (and we’ll be going back again)!
The villa is very spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed and feels like a home away from home. The beautifully refurbished kitchen and dining area has created a really smart, modern open-plan space, which is also very well equipped – perfect if you’re into cooking up the lovely local produce and eating al fresco as we are.
Between the pool and the beach, the kids are always happy and have something to do. The beach is just a couple of minutes stroll from the villa and is a beautiful expanse of golden sand which, when we come in May, we have pretty much to ourselves most days. It’s also so close to the villa that you can hear the sound of the waves in the evenings.
Andrew is brilliant and looks after you really well; he’s attentive and always available if you need help with anything.
We can’t recommend this place enough and hope you love it as much as we do.

A really lovely villa, in a perfect location
A group of us, couples/friends in our 30s, booked this villa for a week long stay following a wedding near Jerez. We were looking for a large villa with a pool which was close to a beach and within walking distance to bars and restaurants. There is also a fully stocked mini market within a 5 minute walk.
We could not have picked a better location. The villa is 100m from a lovely sandy beach which has a selection of great restaurants and beach bars in the evening. We enjoyed walking down for an early evening drink before returning to the villa for a BBQ. It was also lovely being able to be by the pool and go to the beach in the same day, without having to pack up a car and travel.
The villa itself also surpassed our expectations. The living area is lovely, and very big, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need. The pool and seating area are well kept and the garden is very big. We didn't have children with us but I imagine the large garden would be a big plus. We also loved the large table outside for group meals.
Andrew could not have done more to help us and the bottle of wine left on arrival was a lovely touch, as well as the comprehensive house guide book. he was also contactable to ask any questions which was a real bonus.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa for a group of friends or for a family holiday.

Families who want more than a beach
Stayed in the excellent Casa Almadraba with another family. Heard sea from villa and within easy walking distance ( say 200m). Dry and decent temperatures in February. So much to do though:-

- Jerez
- Vejer
- Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia adjacent to Bolonia
- Walking at Pinar de Barbate
Wonderful food and friendly locals.

Beautiful villa in a perfect location
A lovely villa set in beautiful surroundings.
A stone throw from the amazing beach of La Barrosa and amenities but in a secluded and peaceful location. A rustic feel accommodation that was clean and very well equipped.
The owner was very friendly and attentive and made us feel very comfortable. Offering us advice on places to eat and where to a visit.
Would certainly recommend this villa to families and those looking for a relaxing holiday.

Andalucian beach bliss
Five of us stayed at Casa Almadraba for a superb nine-night stay. As described the villa is but a short skip, hop and jump away from the stunning beach at Roche. A huge wide open expanse of clean and vacant sand awaits. The villa itself is in a secure, quiet and tree-lined locale. Just enough people around but not too many. The villa was clean and well-prepared. Andrew was always available on the phone when needed for tips and advice. We used the pool most days except when visiting the many places on offer all within a short drive - Cadiz; Vejer de la Frontera; Tarifa etc. You can have as relaxed or busy schedule as you feel - we fell somewhere in the middle. I would not hesitate to recommend both this villa and area. We shall be back for sure in 2016.

Fantastic place to stay
We went with our family to this property. It was beautiful on the pictures, but it was beautiful in real as well. What a lovely place to stay! Plenty of room for everybody (7 adults and 2 children). We had a great time and the house and the swimmingpool were one of the reasons.
In addition the beach (just 150 meter away), the environment and the beautiful citys made our stay unforgettable.
The owner was willing to help and very friendly.
In short we will recommend this property if you search for room, silence and enjoyment.

The house, the pool, the beach..... Everything is so beautiful!
We went with my old parents and my mother-in-law, so we expent much time at the house and on the beach so close to the house.
We live in the Basque Country, so the weather was important, and we could enjoy ten days of sun and 30ºC!!!

Lovely villa - very close to a sandy and often fairly secluded beach. Very friendly multilingual owners. Our children (12 and 15) had a wonderful time in and around Roche, an area that feels very safe. Great daytrips.
