Poor hotel, bad value.

There was a virtual front desk person no one to help. Room was dirty, very poor hotel.

Bad

Nothing it was under construction the room was filthy and ditty was not able to get clean towels because could not communicate with the staff did not speak English I can go on and on and on

Passable

We weren’t able to access the outdoor seating area which looked nice especially with covid. The sink vanity wasn’t properly installed and water was leaking from it and it wobbled when touched.

Very cute place!

The aesthetics of the hotel was so cute! The decor was even in the hotel room itself. The beds were very soft and comfortable. The design and layout of the room was great. We parked right in front of our window so we had great view of our car. Bathroom had all upgraded equipment. It was very nice. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Trendy Hotel in San Mateo

I liked how close the hotel was to a shopping center and access to freeway. Facility was clean and had free parking.

There wasn't anything I did not like.

It was just so, so.

Location was great. Manager was very helpful. Plenty of great parking spaces. Mostly quiet.

Metal skirt around bed that bags when your feet hit it. Water standing in bathroom sink because of a poorly designed sink and drain. Bathroom door did not latch and lock easily. Shutters did not keep light out in the morning.

Overall, it was easy to book, check in was very easy. Nice, updated, clean rooms. Would book again.

I wasn’t aware that breakfast was an option, I wasn’t informed at check in or check out.

The room was very clean & neat. Looks very nicely updated. It didn’t match the pics I found on the website which is why I booked it. The website showed catrinas as the main theme, but I only saw a few in the lobby. Nothing in the room. Although the decor was nice.

Great value

Cute theme but the room was plain and I decorated.

Cleanliness. Floors in bathroom were dirty. Bugs. Coffee machine had old coffee trash in it. Coffee was terrible.

Great gem of a hotel near dtwn San Mateo and CA92 and 101.

Property has been fully remodeled. Staff was friendly and went the extra mile to help me. Huge TV, comfortable bed, easy parking. Less than a mile from Hillsdale Mall with movie theater. About 1.5 miles from downtown San Mateo restaurant district and movie theater. Right on the main N/S bus line in the Penninsula.

The drains in the sink are put in incorrectly leaving standing water in the sink (I changed rooms during my stay so I experienced in each room)

Too Loud

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly.

Newly remodeled but, didn't replace bathroom window. We could hear all the noises from the neighbors. No screen in the front window so we couldn't open it to cool the room. The AC was loud. The walls are thin. We could hear the conversation from the neighboring guests all night. The TV remote didn't turn the TV on. Continental breakfast was a bag with a small water, a small apple juice, a small Costco pastry and a health bar.

Superb

The property and room was clean and put together nicely. The gentle did assist me when I got locked out of my room.

When I checked-in the young lady that helped me was not too friendly. At least she did put me on the bottom floor.

Great Front Office Staff

The front office staff was exceptional. We made a mistake in the booking and they worked with us to avoid a fee. There was a Keurig Coffee Maker in the room which provided us with great cups of coffee in the AM. The bed was well made and very comfortable.

The bathroom lacked hand towels and wash cloths. The soap dish in the shower was dirty and contained the cap to a disposable razor.

Sleep-deprived in San Mateo!

Pleasant staff, clean room, easy access to I101.

Very thin walls! Could hear most conversations from adjoining room clearly and they were talking late into the night (after midnight).

Bathroom floor is dirty. Water in the bathroom sink not going down properly. It says there’s a microwave in the room, but there wasn’t any.

It was perfect placed

Rooms updated very nice. Room was quiet and staff always friendly and helpful when I had trouble Enjoyed my stay there and will recommend The Catrina Hotel to friends.
