Horrible Experience Won't Return

The outside grounds were lovely. The inside of the lobby itself is warm and inviting. They have a movie theater, but it's super cold. Bring a blanket. The inside pool is heated. The inside hot tub is very large and nice.

The housekeeping wasn't great at all!! We stayed 3 nights and only had 1 day of housekeeping. I called the front desk to ask for more towels, and they showed up about 1 1/2 hours later. I asked about housekeeping, and they said they closed at 5 pm , but they showed up at 6:30 pm while we were getting ready for dinner, so I had to turn them away. The garbage cans were overflowing, and the used towels piled up it was absolutely gross!! The actual room itself seemed like it needed some repairs, the ceiling was peeling, and the shower needed caulking. The outside adult and kids pool hot tub both had broken jets for days and weren't working. The outside adult pool had beetles swimming all over in it, yet the attendent at the gate just sat there eating a sandwich. As a high paying guest, it's not our job to bring things like this to the resorts attention. They need to be more on top of these things. The front desk doesn't communicate well. When I checked in, I said that I wanted to pay cash at checkout. You would hope that they would note that somewhere, anywhere but no at checkout, they charged my credit card instead. So, now I get to pay interest on that!! Also, for incidental holds, it is $600!!! That's absolutely RIDICULOUS! That is on top of what you're already paying for the room. They don't tell people that until they check in. It's too late, in my opinion. It was a stressful trip given the expense you pay to stay at what is supposed to be a high-end resort!! Dissatisfied to say the least. I will be staying elsewhere in the future for sure!!

Not coming back.

We enjoyed the indoor hot tube and indoor pool. The beds were comfortable.

The outdoor kids pool was very cold and dirty. My 10 yr old daughter was not allowed in the clean adult pool. The room had spider webs on the ceiling and the bathroom was dirty when we arrived. The glass shower door had stains as well as the toilet. The lighting in the room was also very poor. Especially the bathroom in room 1417.

It was the perfect place to stay and walk the Geneva Lake trail.

It was beautiful and had a great outdoor pool. It was close to the lake trail. The employees were top notch!

The restaurants weren’t 100% open.

Mediocre.

The actual resort and surrounding area is beautiful.

Our room wasn't ready on time. Towels and space to sit at the pool were hard to find. Little to no dining options. Arcade outdated. The resort is beautiful and has so much potential but things need to be updated.

Racist patrons with guns on premises, hotel security didn’t act.

On our last night January 20, 24 my wife and I were roasting smores by the fire pit outside the Waterfront Restaurant and Grill. Three other patrons joined, all drunk and began smoking marijuana. After that they proceeded to make racist comments against me and my wife for being in an interracial marriage, abused our ethnicities and place of origin, and when we told them to stop they openly threatened us not only with aggression and violence but also to “cap us” since they were part of the “Chicago mob” alluding to the possibility of having guns on the premises. All of this happened at 9 pm while we were enjoying smores in what was supposed to be a family friendly resort. When we called hotel security and gave them the details, all the security offered was to “keep an eye on these patrons” and told us we were free to call the police and that if we felt unsafe and wanted to leave that night - at 11 pm - that they could get us a “partial refund.” No attempts were made to make us feel safe or act against aggressive patrons. This is by far not a family friendly resort. And we will never return. What was the worst part was this was supposed to be our anniversary and now all we have are unpleasant memories. Do better.

Beautiful grounds

For the money room was not acceptable. Mattress was old and uncomfortable, we could hear everything said and done in the room next to us also nothing was I included with the room, like a continental breakfast or complimentary coffee or water in the lobby. I pd $306 a night.

Sad to say it’s our last visit

Location and pool were great

When I walked into hotel to let them know I was checking in that day the front desk was rude and acted like requesting an early check in was a surprising request. We simply just wanted to let them know we were there and if it was possible it would have been greatly appreciated. The vending machine down the hall ate at least $20 from us, when I called front desk to explain and ask for water they said okay but never came. I called back again and they transferred me to the lobby coffee shop that did not answer. I called back again and the front desk tone acted like I was over reacting. The tone every time I called came off beyond disrespectful. The lady who delivered water to our room was beyond pleasant and we were very grateful. People on our floor also found people who claimed to be security rummaging through their room to be security. There was too many unfortunate mishaps this particular stay. We have had so many friends and family get married and The Abbey, it is one of our favorite getaways, I’m sad to say I don’t think we’ll ever be back.

It was ok. Expensive for what is was

The location was amazing. I loved the adult pool. The views were pretty.

The staff was rude. They gave the lady in front of us a complimentary lake view and us nothing. The pool staff wanted to close the adult pool early and told us so. The smoke became an issue from the wild fires and so I swam last two days inside. There was a family swimming and the mom Worked at the abbey. The little daughter needed to use the bathroom and the lady told her to just pee in the pool. The hallways smelled of mildew and it needs some updating. The land scaping crew ran their chain saws all Day as my husband tried to work and the property smelled like gasoline

Good choice for a quiet weekend.

It’s a lovely resort with comfortable rooms. The location is nice and away from the crowds in Lake Geneva. The spa is a good experience and it’s worth it to pay to use the spa’s pool. I love kids but it’s nice to have the peaceful experience of the spa pool with other adults.

It can be quite a bit of walking and potentially stairs depending on where your room is located. If there is a wedding going on, parking can be tricky to find too.

The rooms are nice and comfortable and the ambience is really good at the hotel fun things to do on the property the people are nice great location

The resort was really nice. The lighting in the room are really dim good luck putting on makeup ladies! The spa jacuzzi had to much chlorine It burns your eyes. The the water should’ve been hotter the other salt room is still not working for quite some time now.They remove the second hot tub it would be nice to have reopened.The lockers Give you too much of an issue. The prices for massages, & drinks are a bit high and now very much small . A sample size (communion cup )was $9.00. The food quality was not as great as past visits.

Good value for the hotel. But need to eat outside.

The rooms are nice and clean . The front desk stuff was nice. Coffee shop was great.

The restauranrs. The stuff not attentive & not paying attention. We walked to the restaurant & 2 girls stuff members talking by the bar & not seeing us at all We waited for 5 min and left. Not inviting atmosphere The stake house dinner was not tasty.,cold food & very overpriced for the value. The back doors in the hotels aew open not lucked anyone can come in. Not safe.
