We booked a room, but the facilities etc made us nervous so we did not stay in the hotel.
The hotel needs to be overhauled. It’s not safe.

Two different visits had plumbing issues and was never dealt with

Breakfast ok. Location weird - split up into several buildings, GPS initially coudl not find the place.
There were ants in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was so low, that we had to keep my body parts just inches away from the shower wall in order to receive water coverage - I was not able to rinse off the shampoo of my head in my swoop, but had to turn my head a few times to get the entire head reached by water.
There was a pen and notepad on the nightstand that was very soiled.
The blanket of the beds consisted only a very thin sheet, and the typical decorative cover sheet, which was also quite thin. With the questionable cleanliness of the room, we couldn't trust when that cover had been washed last time, so we had to sleep with a much higher room temperature than normal to stay warm.
Which brings me to the next item: The temperature controls of the heating unit is not by dialing in a temperature, but of manual mode, ie., trial and error, by setting a certain position on the dial, and wait what the temperature results in the end. It took a few trials until we finally got that temperature where we wanted it, quite cumbersome.
What is questionable in that context is the sign that was placed on the table: "This hotel complies with the IL-state energy saving policy and our guestroom's Energy Management System was subsidized in part by the state".
From what I can tell, that temperature control is anything but state-of-the-art, and therefore, I have to question the legitimacy of that sign. But I have no proof that the statement is wrong - maybe IL state has a really low bar when it comes to Energy Mgmt Systems.

Location was great, room itself was generally comfortable and wifi worked well.
I reserved a wheelchair accessible room - and called before booking to confirm the room was, in fact, accessible with room to navigate to the bed. This was fine, but the bathroom door was not wide enough to allow a normal wheelchair to go through so my mom had to go purchase a porta potty. This was highly embarrassing for her and unacceptable for the hotel.

Location was ok. Price was ok.
Room was clean.
Dead bugs and bug strip by bathroom.
Box spring smaller than top mattress on one of the beds. Had to be careful when sitting on edge of bed.

It is close to food, shopping, a has station, and there was a bar on property.
The furniture was tote, stained, didn't match. There were no blankets I'm the room.

Nothing. It was a rundown filthy room. I killed two roaches. There were holes in the walls. I was locked out twice and had to enter through a window to get inside my room. Noisy and trashy.
The breakfast was pathetic. The dining area was filthy, no forks, the floor was was not swept, dirty tables. The pics on the computer made the hotel look good, but it was a total rip-off.
2.3
Fake hardwood floors. Stains in bathroom. Wall patching very visible. Breakfast not ready at 6am. Bedframe can be dangerous to your feet.

I like the key locks on the room itself
The room and property were disgusting. It is a 30 $ a night hotel at best...
