Don’t know. Didn’t get to stay. Was told it was pet friendly. When we arrived was told we could stay because we had a small puppy.
The desk attendant was a jerk.

We enjoyed staying at the Woodward house and we enjoyed walking around the grounds.
We didn’t like the fact the restaurant in the resort was closed two nights of the three nights of our stay. That was very disappointing.

4.5
the property was relaxing, fun, and just all around a North Carolina feel
the room was quaint, air quality and shower are pretty outdated, other than that was great

We ate both dinner and breakfast at Seasons on the property. Dinner was amazingly good and our waitress, Cindy, was both attentive and lovely. Breakfast buffet was also excellent.
The decor was quite depressing, cluttered, dated-just awful. The bed sagged and felt like a cheap mattress. The sheets were scratchy-yuk! The towels were absorbent and just ok. There was an ice bucket but could find no ice. The shower shot out water like a pistol and the hot water faucet on the sink dripped. No fridge or microwave in the room.

The breakfast was awesome. Fresh beautiful fruit, vegetable frittata, fresh croissants and delicious coffee. Most of the staff has been with the inn for quite some time and they are very professional and they really care about the property. Highland Lake is beautiful with glorious flowers and landscaping, swings and hammocks all thru the property. Love the rustic, mountainy feel to the restaurant and the cabins.
The cabin was super cute with a stone fireplace and a swing on the porch, but the bedspread was dingy and the bathroom was a hodge podge of quick fixes - those two things made it feel not clean, but it might have been in actuality. In my mind, I renovated the cabin several times - so much potential
4.5
friendly and attentive staff. wonderful breakfast buffet. comfortable room. close to many attractions
wish we had a few more days to see the gardens and spring unfold.

It was great. I loved the wide selection of hot breakfast foods
4.5
Buffet breakfast was exceptional. Staff was nice and helpful. Bathrooms very clean, Loved the old Lodge. Quaint rustic getaway.
Parking behind Lodge was unusual. No spaces marked, but I think it's the old fashioned way and they seem limited on room for parking. Overall no big deal
3.5
We had a very quick stay; not much time in daylight hours. The response to a maintenance issue was immediate.
We asked for late checkout and it was declined which made it hard to enjoy our morning. We missed the breakfast because we were doing the Hville Turkey Trot.

Beautiful scenery. Loved the secluded location and the quiet serenity of the place. Great place to get away and focus on your loved one!!
Bed was a bit on the tough side, otherwise room was awesome.

Excellent breakfast with many choices was included. Fine restaurant (but somewhat pricey). Charming and well-equipped rooms. Highland lake park offers a quiet, natural environment, as does the surrounding Flat Rock area as a whole.
2.5
proximity to Asheville.
Accommodations were a bit antiquated, staff in restaurant could have been friendlier…never once in two days were we asked if we needed more coffee, juice, water. Not once, while others around us were asked.
4.5
The breakfast was wonderful. Love it there. We live in the woods so it felt like home.
Needed more pillows for bed
4.0
Resort is beautiful
Needs updates and grounds appeared unkept.
4.5
26 acres to roam with a large lake. Landscaping, beautiful trees, sheep and goats, wildlife. So much to see
Plumbing is dated. Any use of cold water from a nearby room at the lodge and you get a hot flash in the shower.
