A good comfortable location on Lake Superior.
Breakfast was okay for a couple of days but not enough variety for longer stays. Location is very good as was the view from the room.
The bar could have opened before around 5pm.

We’ll be back!
This was the perfect place for our purposes. We consider ourselves to be Northshore experts and had no desire to hike or see waterfalls. We’ve seen most of them over the years and have hiked many of the trails. We just wanted a place where we could crash after a stressful school year. We loved our room-50 feet from the lake complete with balcony and a fireplace. We barely left our room - just to get malts at the Big Dipper in Beaver Bay- the best! we loved the Scandinavian breakfast bar and the kind lady who satisfied my need for GF bread. This may be our new favorite place to stay!
Unfortunately, neither of us slept really well on the king mattress in our room- disappointing.

Excellent!
Being so close to the lake. Hearing the lapping of the water from our room.

Worst bed ever
Location to the state parks along the north share.
The mattress was like sleeping in a hammock. My back and neck hurt so badly in the morning. I asked to move rooms, and the staff said that all their beds are "soft." For almost $300 a night, I would expect a bed to be comfortable enough to not cause pain by morning. They did send staff to flip the mattress, but a hammock is a hammock no matter how you swing it.

Disappointing
The view and hotel location
Supper dirty room, never clean up for years, hair everywhere in bathroom, sheet and blanket, every coner of the room so so so dirty. Bathroom such a nightmare for us with "turtle speech running water" for both shower and sink, bathroom floor real old and full of dirt and hairs...carpet never vaccum for years too, easy to see thick dirt in the air when you open the window...The sun will show you how dirty of the room... Beware of the room 310: elevator, exit stairway right on the right side of the room, noisy day and night...The owner should stay one night in that room and will understand what their customer feeling then they decide stop making money $$ with that room or still keep doing that...

Very much enjoyed it. Beautiful lodge and location. Loved being able to have Windows open
Was hoping for a hot breakfast but was quite good. Liked the way it was packaged to go. Would offer more muffin choices.
