The location was great for the activities we did while there. They are in the process of updating the hotel which was a mixed bag. Lobby nice. Our room was half done. New window in but still had shims in, no trim. Bed was comfortable
Big spider web in windowsill. Light in bathroom very dim and flickered, bathroom fan made noise. The breakfast burrito was molded. Had to go somewhere else for breakfast.

Room smelled like mildew/mold. Found mold growing up the walls behind the bedside tables and dressers. Pretty sure it was under the bed that was on the floor too as the carpet was damp. Outside the room smelled like cat urine.

Location was great, breakfast was average.
We have left messages with no return calls regarding our stay. The hotel was apparently doing some remodeling of which we weren't informed when reservations were made. Our room had only one light fixture in one corner, no closet or place to hang clothing, no hangers at all. In area at elevators, newly installed tile was not taped off, as the raw edge of tile was a safety hazard, almost tripped on it myself and saw an elderly person trip on it. Same in room, just past entryway was newly installed tile with no safety tape to prevent tripping. I have photos of all if necessaryStaff was great, but above was enough to request our money back. But, cannot get in contact with anyone to find out! Thanks for your review of this information. Hope to hear from you soon!

Central location
The desk clerk said Booking.com sent them different room type info than what I booked and offered zero assistance in resolving the issue. I booked a room with 2 beds for 4 people and the desk clerk said a room with one bed was booked. We had to scramble and figure it out on our own. All carbs for breakfast. No fruit or protein. Flies in every room my family stayed in.

Bed was comfortable and shower was great
Tv didn’t work the entire stay (6 nights). Housekeeping kept turning the AC down while I was gone. Didn’t turn the room the last 2 days of my stay.

Absolutely nothing.
The hotel was remodeling so it was torn up all over the place. When we booked the room, the hotel should’ve told us about this.
Not only that, but the room we stayed in wasn’t the greatest:
-The toilet was very shaky (it needed to be screwed into the ground)
-There was no water pressure in the shower
-Around the window was exposed spray foam
-The beds were supposed to be queen size, but I’m pretty sure they were full size
-We requested bed rails for our toddler, but they didn’t provide it. They said the construction workers moved them somewhere?
-because there were no bed rails we placed pillows around her. when we asked for two extra pillows, they only gave us one and said he couldn’t find anymore?
-THIS WAS NOT WORTH THE $125 A NIGHT.
If I’m ever in Mason City again, I will NEVER stay there.

Hotel was under construction. Rooms had visible foam insulation, wood shims in various locations, and chipped paint everywhere.
Our room flooded. We were given towels and told there was nothing more they could do. The jacuzzi didn’t work, the pool was closed, the breakfast was cereal, bread, bagels, yogurt. No toaster though.
We asked to speak with a manager, but was told there would be no manager on site until Wednesday.
Needless to say, we won’t be back.

The remodeling is a great improvement and beds were fantastic. Glad to have clean carpet in a room and clean tile on the bathroom floor. Also had a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms.
In one room the sink and shower did not drain well at all. Told front staff and when we returned that evening, there were gross wet towels all over the floor in the bathroom, but the sink and shower were not fixed. Had to stand in 3 inches of water in the shower and the sink was gross when brushing teeth and it not draining. Told offfice staff the next morning and they said they would put it on the “list” again. Glad they are remodeling, but our vehicle picked up a nail from the parking and went flat.

The staff were kind and wonderful to deal with both at check-in and out. You can tell a lot about management by the kindness of staff.
The area is pretty run down. I wasn't comfortable leaving my car in the lot too far from the main entrance. The building is in the middle of construction

Loved the price and friendly staff!
It was being renovated, so that's good for future travelers. Way off of I-35 (15 min.) which was fine, but good to know! Anyway, the entrance to get in to the hotel from the main road is all but non-existent, and no signs to tell you how to get to the front.

They charged my card twice. After seeing the room and smelling the cigarette smell everywhere, I opted to cancel my reservation and find another hotel. They then charged my card again for one night after canceling because of how nasty the hotel is. They now had more than $900 of my money. Thankfully I bank with a national bank and went to them about the charges on my account. I did receive all of my money back, but unless you have VERY LOW expectations, I would not stay here. It is dirty, smells bad and needs updating.
