Everything was outstanding. Clean rooms, fresh linens, towels. Location was great. Alpine eatery's were $$$$.
Our room did not have a coffee maker (the coffee in the lobby is horrible) so another couple and us were talking and they gave us their coffee maker, they dont drink coffee, that was very nice. The Mirror in the room, seemed odd to us, two married couples, we could just look at the mirror and see each others beds. I guess if you had kids it would be handy to have the wall mirror right there, (to keep an eye on the kids I guess) but not for couples, it was odd. Alpine's culinary, eating out is very expensive, over priced for sure. But loved the little town and Artistry.

original, authentic, pool
not comfy beds, outdated shower

Like that they took a part of history, a Motor Inn, and renovated it and upgraded it. Great clean pool. Love that you can park right outside room.

Pulled up to check-in and sign on lobby door directed us to go back to town and check-in at Holland Hotel. It was 7pm and we were tired, so I found this annoying. The price paid was not worth the room we got. I was hoping for a charming inn, but should’ve just booked the Holiday Inn up the road.

I liked the cleanliness and location. I liked that its old.
The pool is way to cold even in the summer when I have visited before. It would be great if there was a hot tub. Also, if there was an actual breakfast, not just granola bars and fruit

Location was what I expected. Coffee was available after 7:00 AM but we were leaving in the morning by 6:00 AM so we did not use it.
Parking was difficult. Fortunately I have a small sedan. Bathroom was small . This is a 1920 Era hotel with updates but it is still outdated by today's standards. The owners seem to be doing the best they can. Ear plugs are provided due to noise from the train that passes several times a night.

Wonderful old buildings with interesting Southwest decor. Terrific staff were friendly and accommodating.
Because of the historic character of the buildings, some things could use sprucing up but overall well- maintained.

I became ill and had to return to Houston for treatment 5 days early. Michelle at the Maverick is fine with refunding me the 5 days. She tried to help me contact Bookings.com for a refund to no avail. I have spent over an hour twice trying to make contact to apply for a refund.
Being able to get a refund for unused days.

I rebooked in January 19-31.2023.
I had to leave today for a medical emergency, January 26, 2023. The Motel was fine with my checking out and refunding me the remaining days.
BUT I CANNOT connect with Booking.com for a refund. The number I have only asks for a confirmation # 2178797101 and then a pin number. I do not know my pin number.

It is very noisy, and the meager breakfast options don’t begin until 0800.

The bathroom was clean and appeared well-maintained. Good, strong water pressure in the shower. I have seen some older reviews that talked about showers being in a state of disrepair. For our stay, this was not the case. Everything in the bathroom worked as intended.
Beds were fine. We had two queen beds. Neither my daughter nor I slept that well on our respective mattresses, but we had dogs with us so I wouldn’t fault the hotel for poor sleep necessarily.
Overall a great stay.
- Pillows were kind of lame. Haha. I like firmer, larger pillows. These were pretty flimsy and flat.
- This didn’t bother us at all but the hotel is right on the “main drag” in Alpine, such as it is. In our room we could definitely hear the sporadic traffic, but we’re from the city and our house is on a main drag, so we’re acclimated. Something to keep in mind. They must get complaints because they provided ear plugs on the dresser.

The location is good, especially if your visit is connected to Sul Ross University.
The facility has quite a storied history; a one-time "tourist camp", now with a revamped old West theme.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable but sparsely outfitted and decorated, and had quite possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in an accommodation. It was ok for me as a solo traveler.

My favorite thing was the pool. I'm rarely tempted by a hotel pool, but this one was so clean and so big that I just had to swim in it. I could take 12 strokes in it, so it was big enough to actually swim in.
I loved the tile floors and the heavy wooden furniture.
Needed at least one more lamp and needed a larger bedside table. Many people need to use CPAP machines these days. but the only lamp took up the whole bedside table.
Bathroom was so tiny!

The way the room was set up.
The television did not work, complained, but they could not fix it. The bathroom showerhead is a hand held and goes all over the place, it had a rain shower head that does not work. No one ever went to clean the room!

Everything about The Maverick was great. The facility is very clean, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and pretty. It’s very well lite at night. The common areas are well kept and there are plenty of trash containers around the property.
Everything was very nice.

Location and staff.
Uncomfortable beds. Felt like an old mattress on a sheet of plywood.

I enjoyed it very much!

There was no hot breakfast ot cold breakfast.
The drapes behind the bed were too short for the window. Lots of light coming in.

Right on the highway and easy to find. Room keys were left in an envelope with our name at the front desk. Liked the rustic feel of the adobe and the period room. Only interacted with one person, but she was very pleasant and helpful.
The bathroom was very cramped - not for the claustrophobic!

Very peaceful atmosphere
Peaceful and beautiful
