The location was conveniently close by UCSB. It was about one exit south of the campus.
The room smelled extremely stale and musty. It was more like a wet dog odor.
They don't do housekeeping, and they don't offer fresh towels-unless you're willing to bag up your wet towels in your room and "exchange " them yourself.
There was also a weird smeared substance on the bathroom door, that I was completely unwilling to clean myself.
The keycard didn't function on any of the side doors to the hotel, hence forcing us to walk all the way around each time we arrived back to the hotel.
Front desk staff was not once at the desk to greet guests nor answer any questions.
Grab and go breakfast was ok I guess..
All in all for $320 a night I at least expected there to be fresh towels available and a clean comfortable stay.
I definitely would not stay here again.
Please do better, especially for the prices you charge.
This hotel should be ashamed 😒..

Updated vinyl floor was filthy. Bottoms of our feet were extremely dirty from walking around our room bare foot. We washed our feet, put on socks or our flip flops to walk on floor before getting into bed. Ugh!

Staff was great. Very welcoming and approachable.
The room had a little bit of a musk smell to it. Like an animal peed and got stuck in the carpet.

Room was clean and had the best price.
The mattress was hard.

Very poor quality everything. Old and nothing is updated.
Everything including the mattress and comforter that belonged to decades ago.

The location was the only positive part of our stay.
The room was dirty, including the floors, walls, refrigerator, and more. For the amount of money we paid, I would have expected a cleaner, nicer room. In addition, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, and there was absolutely no communication from any hotel staff as to what was going on.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. They charged me $233 for just one night. I was expending the price to at least be worth it but it was absolutely disappointing and I wish I could take my money back and stay elsewhere. The room was very small, they said they had free breakfast that was included but it turned out to be a simple muffin and coffee. There was no other food or drinks besides that. I don't even like coffee and they had nothing else to drink so I was very thirty and still super hungry. On top of all this my room smelled bad when I first walked in. This place really needs to up their game if they're gonna be charging so much for one night.

Although the hotel was dog friendly, the desk clerk did not bother to mention to us that they had a "dog relief area", so everytime we took our pup out, we were just wondering around in the hotel flower beds.
