Great location and good amenities
I would’ve liked to have a better view. I looked into a hill out of my window. Also it would’ve been nice to have more restaurant options in the area for dinner. We had to go into town to find food for dinner. Also, there are a lot of great rocking chairs on all the patios looking at the lake, but most of them had cobwebs on them. It just seems like somebody would have taken time to brush off the cobwebs every day so people could enjoy sitting there and having a view of the lake.

My husband enjoyed the breakfast…and he is particular about meals (I got up too late😊). Arrangements were made to provide us with a microwave in our room. That was “knock your socks off” customer care!

Breakfast was amazing! Location is absolutely beautiful with its stunning views! Room was as nice as any decent hotel, but staff and guests are way more friendly in this Christian atmosphere. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Wish I lived closer!
Finding a parking place within reasonable distance to the inn can be iffy, and rain didn’t help the situation. The very friendly front desk staff didn’t have much of a good solution, but that’s not their fault. The whole retreat area seems to be bursting with events during the summer. More parking for inn guests would be helpful.

The views of the lake, the cleanliness, location of the hotel are spectacular.

Very accommodating staff
Great location
Definitely would come back in a different season
Small bathroom and no towel rack for drying.

The breakfast was horrible, I would compare it to hospital food and not maintained well. For example they didn't set up and make available the waffle machine, everything was poor quality.

Love this place

Affordable hotel with comfortable beds, relatively modern decor, fridge, etc.
There was a lot of buzz in the hotel among other guests about the lake being drained. There should be a notification about this on Booking when Lake Junaluska drains the lake. As regular visitors, we’ve seen the lake drained before and know this is an annual event, but they’ve drained it later in the year (March). It sounded like for some guests, an empty lake during the holidays was was a real bummer. Let people who are traveling here know what they are getting when the lake is drained—a marsh surrounded my beautiful mountains.

The view
Where do I begin...booked with intentions of kayaking, closed when we got there because it's was "cold" , it was 78 didn't have dates on website when it would be closing. Parking is horrible. We had to park about 10 minute walk from entrance, the walk would be fine if we didn't have luggage and wasn't pushed into the road with cars as walking because"Christians" didn't find it necessary to move over to let us pass (my son &I) . Ac in room rattled the window, vibrated bed and wall. Was told by maintenance it was normal and talked to like I was crazy for thinking differently. Was moved to another room with an actual " normal" ac. Cable was glitchy. Pamphlet said "WiFi in some rooms" 🙄 when booking showed a restaurant for dinner. Restaurant was for breakfast only. Elevator aren't up to code because the door closed on some guy who was using a knee walker . I felt horrible. Tried jumping over my luggage to help but the door kept closing. Right onto his leg and leg walker. Rooms were extremely small!!! You had to twist and turn to get into the bathroom. I'm 140 lbs . The outlet by sink didn't work. So coffee had to be made on night stand next to my son sleeping. The only thing that was good were the girls at the check in desk and the view. Will never stay here again. And hope my review will help someone else looking for a relaxing stay .

Beautiful walking path. Beautiful facility.
No lighting on the rear walkway to get to the 5th floor

It is truly a beautiful place. The hotel was clean and spacious.
The biggest issue is that I was charged twice. The staff member I spoke to was very rude. Told me after I requested to speak to manager that I would be waiting awhile. The breakfast was horrible. The eggs was the fake eggs. It was so nasty, I couldn’t eat it. Bacon was the type you put in microwave.

Beautiful view and rooms were spacious and comfortable.
TV wasn't working correctly.

View and surrounding area was beautiful. Room was clean and breakfast was good. There were activities we could have scheduled to do, if we had the time. It was a last minute booking and a pleasant surprise.
The mini fridge didn't work in our room, thought maybe it just needed more time to get cold, but by the morning our drinks were still not cold. We didn't complain about it since we were only staying the one night.
