The pillows are way too small. It’s more like throw pillows. The elevators were broken. The tub in our room appeared dirty due to age.

Ice machine on 4 th floor did not produce ice several times. Ice bucket in room very small and would not keep ice overnight

Location was good and staff was friendly.
Room was clean and nothing was so major as to warrant a call to the front desk but several inconvenient things were wrong within the room, making it a less than desirable experience. The thermostat wouldn’t cool the room below 74° even tho we set it at 64°. The elevators weren’t all working as one of the three was under maintenance. (Didn’t know about that ahead of time) The desk chair hydraulic wouldn’t rise so when sitting at the desk it was uncomfortable and awkward. The remote control either didn’t work or the batteries were dead, making it annoying to get up to change the channel or adjust the volume. The electrical plugs in the lamp fixture between the beds were loose and unable to be used because the plugs kept falling out. Again, nothing so major it needed to be addressed immediately but cumulatively, made for a less than enjoyable experience. Definitely will rethink staying at this particular location or other Hilton properties in the future. On a bright side, the staff was friendly and the cookies are always a nice touch. A better eye for detail when staff is cleaning and servicing the rooms would be very beneficial to the guest experience.

It is next to the BOD center
Sheet had yellow stains, bathroom was awful the floors were dirty. There were urine stains on the wall behind the toilet.
Elevators never work. I have to stay here once a year and they always have a broken elevator. There is a big sign saying new elevator coming Fall of 2023. Check the date. But hey they have a Pelton in the work out area.

A couple was having a very loud argument in a close room on our floor. It took security a full hour before checking into it at 2:30 AM.

it was very run down and in need of an update. walls were paper thin and guests were partying everywhere. lobby smelled like smoke.

location is is attached to BOS center. I was attending an event there for 2 days.
Facility had 3 elevators. last year one of them was broke. This year the same elevator still broke, plus a second not working. Yep, one working elevator for a very packed hotel. At least a 30 minute wait to use it. Tried using the very hidden stairs. But going up 10 floors was a lot. If you had anything with you, well you just had to wait.
Bathroom was filthy. Found dirt or mud in the sheets. Not sure really, hoping that’s what it was. Later I went to change the thermostat, to find black mold all over the wall by the window.
I made a call and they quickly moved us down the hall to a new room. Excellent right? Someone else rolled their suitcases in that room less then 15 minutes later. Never cleaned and did the black mold disappear?
Also, the entire point to stay here is that it’s attached to the center, but they always have it blocked off.
They do have a restaurant, which is convenient for the busy weekend we had, but the staff is rude and no one knows what the heck they are doing.
sounds like I’m just a Karen, but everything about the hotel experience was awful. The people who checked us in were even rude, I blew it off because I was excited for the weekend. looking back I decided I should say something, most likely I will have to stay there next year with our group and I’m hoping for improvement.

The breakfast we had was good, but spendy. Location was great for all the attractions.
We had our do not disturb out and at 5pm one of the staff entered our room with announcement. Why? We don't know, but very scary and stretchy. Poor communication as well with this encounter! Be careful.

The location.
This was the third time we have stayed at this Double Tree in Springfield ILL in the last 12 years. We understand that COVID has changed things for hiring staff which affect cleanliness and amenities. We did not have a refrigerator in the the room, there was no hot water in the lobby, for tea drinkers on the coffee bar in the morning. There was no breakfast offer. The paint in the tub was peeling, there was mold in the corners of the bathroom, and No exhaust fan. We choose this Double Tree because it is in walking distance of restaurants and the Lincoln sites.It was a disappointing stay as we brought friends and told them this would be the best overnight, 3 nights we stayed, experience.
